antifa are communists and anarchists.....mainstream Democrats seem a little timid in calling those two groups out for the antifa violence.....in a fairness, just like the Republicans seem a little timid in calling out the white nationalist for their violence as well. Most of my old guy friends can draw their pensions when they retire, some are 67 & still working..... also drawing social security

I understand and share your worries. Universities used to be fora for the exchange of ideas and the advancement of society, and I am pretty sure that people who are truely liberal still think they should stay that way.

This is the result of "tolerance zero" policies - people are now persuaded that being extreme is, after all, a good thing. Also, our international scene being what it is, numerous liberties have been swayed under the rug of "security". Results: One complaint, and whole events are going down.

That wouldn't be the end of freedom of speech in the US. Ending freedom of speech in this country would require a constitutional amendment. You can still go out and say pretty much whatever you want.
