The "shithole" quote is the best thing I've ever heard from a US President in my lifetime

As Tucker Carlson rightly states.Immigration status is Determined here

Both Haiti and Mexico are thugocracies in which the chief impediment to economic success is an ever more rapacious and largely unaccountable government. Look to see if there is any sort of public education, if there is none then you can guarantee the country was designed by its masters to be an impoverished **** hole. Sadly we are on that trahectory as the left spends more and more time on indoctrination and less on actual education.

 

Let the Democrats and the corrupted Mainstream media campaign
on places like Haiti and El Savadore as suitable for Immigrant status.
Let them prove how those places could bring in people willing to assimilate.

Would it not be racist to make immigration about where you come from rather than what you bring to the table? Why should Haitians get special treatment over anyone else? Why should we give aid and comfort to malicious regimes by operating as a release valve for the very tensions they themselves have created? What's the difference between the term "Third World Nation" and "shithole"?

These are all undeveloped nations still stuck in an 18th century quagmire of feudal corruption - many people living in shacks without sewage and clean water while using a cell phone and watching TV.

In my opinion, "Third World Nation" does not supply quite the picture that "shithole" does.

As for all of this "racist" crap - I believe the bigotry is in the minds of the people who use the word "racist" because they are implying that all shitholes are not white.

The problem with Trump is he follows one disaster with a greater disaster. Often times that is caused by a psyche that requires Trump to double down on a mistake in judgment.

However, that was not the case Thursday when an egregious error in judgment was followed by an even greater egregious error in judgment. The first error is described in the OP. Trump forgot what his position was on FISA, and he seemed to be siding with the liberals in an early morning tweet. He had to be told what his position was by chief of staff, John Kelly, and the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan.

The greater error came later in the day, and the first monstrous error was quickly forgotten. In a meeting with Senators Trump used an expletive deleted racial slur followed by other racial remarks. For example, saying that he preferred immigrants from Nordic white Norway to the brown-skinned immigrants from Haiti. He later denied he said anything discriminatory or naughty, but no one believes him anymore. He simply lies too much.

The uproar was immediate, expected, and long in duration. Even Republicans are joining in or avoiding the issue, and certainly not defending Trump for his inexcusable remarks. The Hill reports, "A number of Republicans are distancing themselves from President Trump’s remarks describing Haiti and other poor countries as “shitholes” as coverage of the incendiary comments for a second day dominates news coverage."

The Hill continued, "GOP lawmakers in swing districts and Republicans who represent populations of emigrants from the countries insulted by Trump were the quickest to separate themselves from the president’s comments as they sought to insulate themselves from blow back."

The fact that still later in the day Trump wrote a tweet filled with lies that announced he was cancelling a trip to Britain was largely overlooked. Instead of blaming the expected raucous protests because of his 75% unpopularity, Trump blamed Obama for a Bush decision.

The only question remaining is, how much longer are Republican leaders in Congress going to put up with Trump's antics. Clearly, he is an impediment to their agenda. Republicans should be celebrating. They passed tax reform, a huge hurdle. Border security has been tightened. The economy is booming and has been ever since Republicans won victories in the Oval Office, Senate, and House. The stock market is setting records every day.

But, instead of celebrating, they are leading the President around by the nose because of his incompetence and cursing him for his brainless remarks which dominate the news cycle nearly every day.

 

Which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. Trumpians want desperately to change the subject. Their boy is in serious trouble.

Which is one reason why his approval numbers are rising again.

I don't know whether Jews or Buddhists could be loyal to a white Christian country, but since the US is not a 'white Christian' country, but a multi-racial secular republic (thank God), the point is moot.

And ... think about it: why would you want to destroy a country you live in? If you lived in, say, Singapore ... would you want to destroy it? If so ... well, not everyone is like you ... another thing for which to thank God (or the impersonal laws of the universe, whatever).

The Americans have a stupid system for deciding who can immigrate to America: it's a lottery! Literally. So a brain surgeon or an electrical engineer has as much chance of getting the right to immigrate as a chronically-unemployed alcoholic.

The US should switch to the Canadian or Australian system, in which a would-be immigrant gets 'points' for having various desirable qualities, like years of education.

Then what the 'average' quality of their country is wouldn't make any difference.
