    No.
Women benefit more than Men from an AR rifle.

my wife has several AR 15s including a Colt I tricked out with pink furniture. She's a really good shot. She looks down on women who are unable to provide for their own safety

What kind of gear do you use to carry your "self defense" dishes?

You'd think people from a country that would have been invaded by Japan would appreciate an armed population.

I own six weapons and have a WI CCL. I proficient at using all of them. Admittedly, (outside of cleaning and maintaining what I own) I am no weapons aficionado and depend on my mentors (all male, military vets and hunters) to help me decide if or what I should purchase. When it come to the AR 15, they all basically respond; "what the hell do you want that for? because it looks badass?" I say no thank you to the AR 15.

Sadly this message had not reached many. But the first indications of this were in research published in 1993

There's actually a number of reasons. Assuming you keep a firearm for self defense, they're easier to control and hit your target if 3 guys decide to kick in your door and your hands start shaking.

Handgun rounds will go through every wall in your house, but self defense rounds like vmax fired from an AR15 will only go through a couple walls.

Anyone you know own one of these? They're no different than an AR15, other than having less options to mount lights and stuff.

I was so unimpressed with the M-16 in service, I bought an M-1. Prefer a .30 cal to a varmint gun. No discernable difference in recoil, or range IMO. No stupid "buffer" spring either. Plenty of accessories avail. I prefer mine "authentic".

My wife has one. The adjustable stock gets length of pull and eye relief correct. Inline operating system pretty much negates muzzle rise. She is competent with most guns but she is especially good with her AR. Even more so when she uses my reloads and gets away from the 3 MOA surplus crap.

I'm not a fan of the AR-15, or any long rifle, for home self defense. I would assume the most likely scenario is some sort of late night break in, so I would guess either a pistol with laser sight or a shotgun would work better for an enclosed space like the inside of a house. Also, you don't want to take the chance of gunfire going through your house to the outside and endangering others.

On the other hand, I would like to have an AR-15. I've fired the M-16 plenty of times and they can be a fun, easy to use weapon.
