Yep. Jedi were on the side of the republic but and the Jedi cruisers were precursors for the Empire's Star Destroyers.

That's telling him. Star Wars and Star Trek are not the same.

I think Trump and this administration is not the one to be embracing Starfleet or Federation ideals. The federation paints the picture of an ideal socialistic utopia. There is no need for money, people work for the challenge, sacrifice and enjoyment and they embrace the Vulcan IDIC of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. That means more immigration from not only brown and black people but from blue and green people too. 8)

Evolution of technology in general goes along with military research... maybe the development of space battle ships will open the road for advanced interstellar travel who knows. But it is more likely that we will remain on earth for a very long time still, i think... provided the human race is not extinguished in the next 100 years, according to stephen hawking

Go to this website. It is the best for star ship sizes. I thought there was a aircraft carrier for comparison but they do have the battleship Yamato. You can even see how big Godzilla is compared to a Star Destroyer. You can drag and move the images around the page too.

I used the original "The Making of Star Trek" that was published in 1968 and all copies today are collector items if you have one.

How many revisions that were made with the following publications over the decades ???

I was at Staging Battalion in May of 69 a few days before being deployed to Vietnam and I bought the paperback "The Making of Star Trek" at the Las Pulgas PX at Camp Pendleton having a stupid idea that there would be some free time in the Nam to actually read a book.

It actually took me about six months before I finally read the entire book.

Wish I still had that book, passed it on to some other Marine after I read it.

What became of the book ? Likely used for ass wipe by some NVA soldier.

I still remember where I was on the night of July 20th 1969, out in the bush in Quang Nam province looking up into the sky when it was announced we put a man on the moon. It was a really weird feeling.

I don't think I have the original "The Making of Star Trek" that was published in 1968. If I have one it probably is a later edition. I have quite a few Star Trek related books and technical manual but they are packed away in boxes under the stairs somewhere. I have 100s of Star Trek novels stored somewhere too.

**I just did some googling for that book and I definitely don't have one. It sounds interesting though since it was released during the filming of the series. The book had a 27th printing in 1991 and to date it is still highest reprinted Star Trek technical manual.

Now I am going to keep my eyes open for one. Maybe I will find one on Craigslist.

BTW Great story about where you were for the first moon landing. Kind of gives me chills.

Even the mass printings of "The Making Of Star Trek" paperbacks published during the 80's and 90's are going for over $20.

I would guess all books published about Star Trek will all become collector items in the future.

The way things are going today with so few actually reading books today, all books are likely to become collector items.

Thus the USSPACECOM merged into an expanded USSTRATCOM, which would retain the U.S. Strategic Command name and would be headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. The merger aimed to improve combat effectiveness and to speed up information collection and assessment needed for strategic decision-making.

With all our warfare being based around tech and satellites, I'm hoping we already have some defensive systems in place. Both China and Russia know that's the first target environment, and have been working on ways to take them out.

I don't laugh at a "Space Force". I think it's essential, and you won't want to be the last one to do it.
