Appointing a special counsel because a few conspiracy theory wing nuts in Congress demand it is stupid, and Ryan knows it. We'll see how 'all in' he's gone on nut jobs. Sessions has already appointed an investigator (US Attorney John Huber) to look into these matters, he did this in March. Apparently these freedom caucus nut jobs in Congress have forgotten about this. And no, I'm "not worried" at all.......

 

If this had any possibility of quieting the lies from the right regarding mueller I would be fine with it. If they find something then the right will just keep making up more things, and if they do not find anything at all we know that the right will continue the lies like they did with benghazi, the IRS, and hillary.

Mueller is getting indictments, convictions, and confessions. That is proof there is something there. Despite multiple investigations of made up scandals on the right there has only been a general idea that everything was made up and hillary and the IRS never did anything wrong despite being investigated multiple times. Just more wasted money on the right trying to deflect from the twitler family russian alliance.

 

I think the US Attorney's can handle this fine.

ON MUELLER’S APPOINTMENT

In an intriguing column for The Hill this week, Professor Calabresi gives a glimpse of “The mess Rod Rosenstein made.” I was surprised by Rosenstein’s noncompliance with the Department of Justice’s own (very simple) regulations on the appointment of Special Counsel at the time he originally appointed Robert Mueller

 

Personally, I'm worried that this sideshow will impact the Main Event... that's it.... when Mueller is done, you can appoint a special counsel to investigate John Podesta's foot fungus for all I care............... alleged foot fungus...

Lock up Obama and Hillary if you can prove they committed crimes. Re-investigate Hillary now if you think Comey went easy on her. Look into whatever oversight Obama may have had over the early days of the Trump-Collusion investigation. If there's a crime, prosecute. You won't see me whining "witch hunt."

Appointing a special counsel because of a fake dossier Hillary paid Russians for is stupid.

 

He has no convictions. He has a few perjury traps, and indictments that have nothing to do with Trump/Russia collusion. And when he has to show up in court he gets his wrinkled ass handed to him, either by the judges who call out his BS or the lawyers for the Russians he indicted.

 

This from some of the House repubs is just more politically driven BS. Hell, another mueller would be just politics again.

If they are serious, they would push for another Church Committee, and find non partisans to be on it. If we are to look into the FBI and DOJ.

 

"Big foot" was Comey's code name in "crossfire hurricane" ... Comey's since been designated "Big mouth", by the OIG. Unfortunately the OIG's power to compel testimony is very limited. "Nobody cares" that crimes were committed by former officials, we want answers and special counsel has the ability to get them. Muellers appointment got bipartisan support, the fact that this resolution hasn't got a single (D) supporting it, illustrates just how much democrats DO care.

I will answer for our increasingly uneasy leftists -- some of whom are beginning to realize that already there is at least one unstoppable investigation into leftist and RINO leadership jointly politicizing and weaponizing the FBI to 'get Trump' via any means possible, and mostly by illegal means at that. Although I appreciate the members of Congress publicity voicing desire to rid our government of corruption, we don’t need another special counsel. We already have Huber, he actually has prosecutorial power and working with Horowitz. If anything, those teams could be augmented. Double or triple their resources.

 

To be fair, since a staunch Republican conservative (Mueller) was chosen for the first SC, the second should obviously be a liberal Democrat. Anyone who isn't a corrupt partisan shill would have to agree.

It doesn't matter, of course. Rosenstein isn't going to give them what they're throwing tantrums over. That's not how the justice system works. Criminals don't get to demand that the police be investigated. We're just using this incident to highlight the dishonesty, corruption and hypocrisy of the Trump goosesteppers.

Since Mueller was hired in part to look into obstruction for the firing of his buddy Comey, the next SC should be a buddy of Trump................to be fair, right?
