On October 3rd, before a crowd in Southaven, Mississippi, Trump imitated Ford's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, mocking her for not knowing the answers to certain vital questions. "I had one beer. Well, do you think it was -- nope, it was one beer," Trump said. "How did you get home? I don't remember. How'd you get there? I don't remember. Where is the place? I don't remember. How many years ago was it? I don't know." Trump's comments were met with laughter and applause from the crowd of southerners. Perhaps the most popular member of Trump's staff, one of Trump's most senior female advisors, the U.N. ambassador for the United States, Nikki Haley, wrote her letter of resignation. The letter of resignation was dated October 3rd. I do not believe in coincidence. Her resignation became public today, Tuesday. It is very odd for a very high profile member of an administration to resign four weeks before a crucial national election. Haley's staff was informed earlier today. The White House, including John Kelly, James Mattis, Mike Pompeo, and John Bolton were taken completely by surprise. I do not believe in coincidence!
Reach much? You are telling us Haley watched Trump's rally and decided to resign? That has more holes in it than Fords testimony.
Maybe President Haley will tell the whole story of her resignation when she writes her memoir after 8 years in office.
To the OP theory -- Haley also stated while looking into the camera that she will be helping Trump in 2020. So if you think her as honorable and sincere in all things then you have to take her at her word. Sometimes coincidences do happen.
I am telling you Haley was aware of what Trump said and was aware of the sham FBI investigation because the parameters of the investigation were written by the White House, specifically White House counsel Don McGahn, whose job it was to get Kavanaugh confirmed. Is that so hard to believe? Or do you believe in coincidence?
You seem to have a special insight and knowledge that eludes most here and all of the media on both sides of the aisle. Nothing like a tinfoil sombrero to keep you dry in a thunderstorm.
Who cares? Bye Nikki ... good luck. I'd considered Kavanaugh's circus might have prompted Nikki's departure ... but immediately realized that I didn't care. I'm actually hoping it's a prelude for US withdrawal from the UN.
Do you believe in using one's brain? Trump's rally in Mississippi started after 7pm local time, 8pm Eastern time. It was kind of late already and the rally itself took a pretty long time.... The chances that Haley was listening to the speech and at 10pm dashed on the spur of the moment to write a resignation letter, so late in the day, without thinking it through are less than negligible. She is a smart calculating, cool headed politician after all, not a liberal hysterical emotional wreck unable to control her impulses. There are dozens of other infinitely more plausible explanations of her resignation and it's almost a certainty that by 8pm when the rally was just about to start her resignation letter had already been written, dated, signed and submitted to Trump. PS did I mention, she is going to campaign for Trump in 2020 as she promised and Trump is going to campaign for her in 2024. And in 2024 she will become first female president of the US.
Apparently the OP hasnt got the word that Ford according to democrats is a used up liar that didnt work. Democrats have dumped her. Time to move on.
So Haley resigned. No big deal. Someone will replace her and the show will go on. Only Haley knows why she resigned but who cares. Those attempting to predict the future will make fools of themselves in the present.
I don't believe her resignation is a coincidence. She doesn't want to be associated with this Trump Administration anymore. Who can blame her? Niki Haley appears to be a kind person. She needs to get far away from Trump.
Allow me to explain that I am not saying the OP is gospel. Certainly, I could be wrong. What I am saying is that I do not like coincidences. I am saying there appears to be a relationship between Trump mocking a woman who most likely was the victim of a sexual assault and the surprise announcement of a high profile woman in Trump's administration. Ten days before Trump made a mockery of Ford's testimony, Nikki Haley had this to say about Professor Ford. “Accusers go through a lot of trauma. Some handle it one way, and some handle it another way. Regardless, it’s not something we want to do, to blame the accuser or try and second guess the accuser.” https://www.postandcourier.com/poli...cle_1c941188-bf3e-11e8-820a-5fd8256bd1f8.html October 3rd, "How did you get home? I don't remember. How'd you get there? I don't remember. Where is the place? I don't remember. How many years ago was it? I don't know." Led by Trump, the crowd of southerners laughed and jeered Professor Ford. October 3rd, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley wrote a letter of resignation from the Trump administration. Coincidence?
Trump mocks a woman who more than likely was sexually assaulted. I write about the mockery. This is hatred? Isn't Trump responsible for what he says and does? I am pounced upon because I report what Trump said. I am somehow culpable, not Trump? What the hell kind of mangled logic is that? Is that the best you can do in defense of Trump? That is pretty pathetic.
Liberal hope springs eternal Haley is a Haley-First sort of person If that was the problem she would be taking full credit for it already
Or apparently reality either. Her resignation does not become effective til the end of the year and she has said she will campaign for Trump and that she isn't interested in a presidential run of her own. Now understand she is a very smart talented lady and that the body of the UN is in the main made up of a lot of ne'er do well relatives of various third world potentates, no few of which are of the opinion that just having to deal with a woman is insulting, and you have a situation that is extremely wearing on women of Haley's obvious quality and intellect. By the way she is also on record as having said that the best thing about working for DJTrump is that he actually listens to what you have to say.
Haley will form a Presidential exploratory committee in March and will be fundraising by May. She will Primary against Trump promising all the good Republican business support without all the Trump crazy assed bull crap Drama Queen theatrics. I'd say she has a good chance.
This is an interesting question. Trump's resignations rarely occur immediately after the event that brought them on (to preserve the illusion of deniability) This appears to be different. How will we know? Haley's future actions will reveal her intentions. If she ends up being appointed to the Senate to replace Graham when he is appointed to replace Sessions...it will be pretty obvious either way
I dunno, the polling shows that Republicans see the whole thing as an absolute joke and partisan attacks. I guess we will see, but this seems like highly wishful thinking from a Prgressive
OK, why do you believe her letter was written AFTER he made those comments? She told him she wanted to resign 6 months back by the end of this year. Her letter has as much praise as yours has hate.
The coincidence of merit was that Blasey-Ford arranged to set up an insurance policy on March 26, 2012 via a May 2012 therapist appointment to discuss, among other things, a second front door that she installed in 2008 to rent part of her house to the marriage counselor she bought the house from. March 26, 2012 was the day the Kavanaugh dissent in Seven-Sky v. Holder became part of the arguments in NFIB v. Sebelius, the attempt to kill the Obama signature healthcare takeover. A target was placed on Kavanaugh's back on that day. Another coincidence was the Blasey-Ford friend who she taught to defeat polygraphs was an FBI agent and employed an attorney who was best friends with Peter Strzok and, in fact, worked with Strzok to exonerate Hillary and frame Trump. Haley supposedly told Trump she'd be quitting at the end of this year 6 months ago. She also said she would be campaigning for him in 2020. Telling him now would give Trump time to look at people, some running for office, in preparation for a selection after the election. Let's focus on the real conspiracies and insurance policies.
I do not believe in coincidence! Are you trying to say that Nikki Haley is pissed at President Trump for speaking the truth? Your post gores to prove you couldn't "guess" your way out of a wet paper bag and that you will believe in any circumstance that you think might in some way be harmful to President Trump. My take on this move: It just so happens that the end of this year would be the perfect time to prepare for a 2020 bid for elective office which lead us to several more likely scenarios for this move: First is that she would run as VP with Trump Next is to run for a seat in the House as prelude to running for the senate Run for governor again. I will leave you to your wet dream - we all need some way to relieve the stress.
