Well, sounds like someone's afraid of the new AG and why is that. He's not part of Trump's campaign. He wasn't even involved with the Florida recount. Why Dems why? In DC his nickname is Mr. Clean.

Dem leaders call on acting AG to recuse himself from Russia probe
WASHINGTON — Top Congressional Democrats are calling on acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to recuse himself from the Russia probe.

Seven party leaders, including Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), sent a letter Sunday to Assistant Attorney General Lee Lofthus, who oversees ethics at the agency, asking him if Whitaker had been advised to recuse himself.

If you're not familiar with Whitaker's attitude towards Mueller's investigation then you haven't been keeping up. Do some research.

Whitaker's attitude isn't different than ANY other potential Trump AG nominee. Russiagate is a hoax and everyone knows it. (D)'s cling to it because there's still a political advantage in that. Anyone the GOP Senate would be willing to confirm, is going to be a Mueller skeptic. Maybe not an open critic ... but a skeptic for sure.

I've done the research that's why all this wishing he will recuse will not happen. If they want him out they'll just have to approve Trump's AG appointee.

The best place to battle democrats is on the beach not inland where they can do more damage

Better that sessons had been getting criticism from the dems the past two years for not recusing himself than having to deal with the stupid mueller witchhunt instead

Trump could nominate Maxine Waters for Attorney General and the Dems would demand she recuse herself.

No matter what he does, they’re going to obstruct, delay, sabotage, etc.

Sessions II? Can't Democrats be more original?

Nope. Why try something new when the old play may work?

There is no chance Whitaker or any nominee for AG will recuse him (or her) self.

Trump will have asked the question in advance and only those who promise not to recuse will be considered.

Isn’t Whitaker’s appointment illegal, as only the deputy AG can serve in that position until a new nominee is confirmed by the Senate? Therefore any decisions - ie sacking Mueller in the event of Trump being unable to get his nominee through - would seemingly be null and void?

So, technically, this isn't an appointment under the law. It is a temporary vacancy being filled by Whitaker. The "appointment" is handled when the President nominates a replacement and is confirmed by the Senate. Hyperventilating about things like "sacking Mueller" seems more fantastic than real. And frankly, why fire Mueller? What democrats fear is that Trump is going to publicly release the documents that exhonorate him and their narrative against Trump dissolves under their feet.

I heard the other day (a legal expert on none other than Fox News) that Whitaker cannot even legally *serve* as acting AG. So if that is indeed the case, my point was that anything he did could be declared null and void.

And really if Trump has documents which exonerate himself, his sons/step son and his 2016 campaign staffers, why wait? He could end it now, instead of constantly whinging about a “witch hunt”. If he knows there is no wrongdoing there is no literally no reason to delay releasing these alleged documents.

I’m guessing Capt Nice was suggesting I’ve haven’t read anything about AG Whitaker so I didn’t do any research and my reply was I did read/research about AG Whitaker, OK.

I think it’s going to come from Mueller. He is going to basically conclude no collusion and it will be in his report.

Reminds me of when some people demanded that Justice Ginsburg recuse herself from any cases involving President Trump or his White House as a result of opinions she had expressed. The fact remains is that people have the capability to simultaneously posses personal opinions and act within the confines of law.

I will accept that if that is what his report says. Will you accept it if his report implicates Trump or his campaign in wrongdoing?
