Dang! If they won the election for Trump with just $4K, what does that say about the Hillary Crew spending $1.2 Billion to lose?
And the midterm vote that put the Replicants in charge of the HofR in 2010, that was not "suspicious"? (Your capacity at political descernation is suspect.) The voting system has been manipulated since the get-go of the nation. Namely, the constitution, that was negotiated between the Northern and Southern States. These latter were very concerned that - as had occurred already in Europe - the New Country of America would want to abolish "slavery". It would (and did) torpedo that means by which land-owners in the south (along with cheap labor) were able to build great fortunes. Slavery was so ingrained in the body-politic of the southern states that the country went to Civil War in 1860. Which may have abolished the legality of slavery, but not its mentality! There is, in my mind, no difference whatsoever between those presently incarcerated below the Poverty Threshold and the slave "freed" by the Civil War. Both lives were and remain impoverished. All of this history came to naught until a good many decades later, when an historical evolution took place - the Agricultural Age gave way to the Industrial Age. Which gave America a quite different way for people to amass fortunes. This ingrained notion - that an economy is there to create rich-people - has never really been at default with the American public given the pathetic results. And for as long as that notion is given political-preference by voters, nothing will ever really change in the US. Until, perhaps, one day, what happened in the Watts sector of LA could could again deteriorate but across the entire nation. (Not possible? Watch this space!) Income Disparity (ID), which is a measure of the unfairness in the distribution of income within an economy, is in the US amongst the worst of any developed nation. (ID is measured today by means of the Gini Coefficient, which looks like this when estimated across a distribution of developed nations - such as the OECD.) If you think the fact that China AND the US having the highest distributions is fair&equitable to both their populations, I am quite prepared to differ ...
I do not understand this "RULE" declaring income must be equalized. Where does this theory come from? It is the basis of income disparity.
Conspiracy theory pushed by US Intelligence, corporate Democrats, and the commercial media. An assessment is a statement of belief, not proof. As was admitted in the report released by "hand picked" members of 3 US intelligence agencies assessing alleged Russian meddling: Mueller never interviewed Assange even though he reached out to the FBI. I wonder why. McCarthyism is typically associated with the Right Wing. Anything to say about corporate money interfering in our elections?
And Trump still managed to win despite the lefts anti-American attacks and voter fraud they said didn't exist. If the left says voter fraud doesn't exist, then you know damn well it not only exists, they are behind it.
The U.S. political world is hopelessly corrupt so I put no faith in the elections system and don't participate in it. However, it would be interesting to see who reported the U.S. last in election integrity and why.
Sour grapes by a Bernie supporter. Putin's trolls want us to believe that the elections are rigged. Trump, incidentally, also absorbed and repeated the idea that American elections are "rigged," just as he absorbed and repeated birtherism during the Obama years. You have no basis for proclaiming that all of those primary and general elections were fraudulent. It takes more than exit polls not being what someone arbitrarily expected them to be for that claim to be proven.
https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/usappblog/2...ions-rank-last-among-all-western-democracies/ https://www.transparency.org/cpi2018 It's based on this "perception of corruption index," which does not rely on factual information, but on public perception of corruption. So, your negative opinion would potentially be factored on this index and used by this blogger and those reposting this blog, and then by Horhey here, to try and claim that our electoral system is "rigged." Pure bunk.
What rule? Look, this is a Debate Forum. If you don't link to whom (and the message) you are responding, how are the rest of us to know and respond? Income Disparity is obtained by wholly unfair upper-income taxation. That changed radically with the election of Reckless Ronnie in 1980. As shown here. In that linked historical-chart, look what happened to upper-income tax-rates in 1980. This fact triggered Income Disparity in the US. And some people think Ronnie was the greatest PotUS since George Washington! Will wonders never cease ... ?
Yes! The notion that we all deserve a lifestyle (regardless of any other qualification) that is fair and just. Meaning this: And this: *Forty million American men, women and children living below the Poverty Threshold in a country as rich as ours is NOT "fair-and-just". *Income Disparity that is one of the highest of any developed nation is not fair-and-just! *
If we want "relevance", we must get away from the two-party system. Anyway, almost half the voting population is "mixed", meaning independent. The hard-core democrats/replicants are minor percentage the total popular-vote ...
Given your keen insights, LafayetteBis, How--if any at all possible--could a successful Independent movement potentially break the lock/stranglehold of the two major parties? Pretty sad day for democracy when the presidency comes down to who has the deepest pockets to purchase it.
