Now this reasoning is logical, and something I can behind. I can even get behind the idea that we should wait until 2028, so that no one person is seen as 'targeted' by this, or political gotcha. The only thing I'd contest or argue, is that when you apply for a loan, that's applying for a contract. There is no contract per say between the government and a citizen running for office(including the Presidency.)

But if we want to change it so that it is a contract, I have no qualms.

    Bit presumptuous, aren't ya?

I have no doubt Hannity or Limbaugh would. I would not. My stance is consistent. If you want to make it a requirement, then pass a law. Until then, if a candidate chooses to not submit their tax returns....Democrat or Republican....I am ok with it, as it is not requires.

If I were runnng for an office of public trust I would expect them to be disclosed to the public.

    Great.

Encourage congress to pass a low requiring all elected positions to submit their tax returns publicly.

Wake me up when hell freezes over.

I guess so. But he shouldn’t have kept lying about it therefore making it an issue. But I guess lying and stalling are just a part of this guy’s act. Many people think it’s cute and charming. I find it to be sleazy and beneath the dignity of a President.

Well, my business loans were 6 figures. I'm not sure what tax returns would show a lending agency anyway. They are not interested on what you made in the past as much as what you will make in the future. I have submitted income reports, profit and loss reports, receivables, and itemized project income, but never tax returns. Were you using personal items for collateral on the business loans? On home loans, they have the purchased house as collateral, so again, I don't see what tax returns would display.....I could possibly see their requirement if you were buying a house and borrowing more than the house is worth.

Evidently you are not familiar with FHA, FNMA, loans. Every home I bought to live in and every rental I have bought I had to produce 3 years tax returns. I’m not going to argue with you about it, It has just always been my experience. I just wonder why Trump is so reluctant to release his. What’s the big deal?

I just see it as political rhetoric. Just about every politician I have ever seen has been guilty of it in one form or another.

If I remember correctly, Bill Clinton dragged his feet releasing his tax returns and did not release them until AFTER he was elected. I seem to remember constant pestering in the news for him to release them because of their White Water involvement.

Ahhh....that might explain it if you are going with Government loans. I never did a Government loan, but I believe Government loans require that you prove your taxes are paid up.

They always seemed to have the best rates. Even a couple business loans I got on successful restaraunts where I could have qualified with business records, I chose loans which also required tax returns to get the best rate. I have been using the same loan broker for 40 years.

He was the victim of a Deep State attempted coup, why would he turn this over to Deep State allies? Normal Americans care more about their tax returns, which are looking pretty good these days.

I don't think you should release his tax return because his name will never be cleared with the left. They'll just pivot to something else.

So why should you prove your innocence to people who will never view you as innocent?

What I think you should do is give all of you people the middle finger because you didn't elect him anyway.

Paranoidal crackpot conspiracy nonsense is not a valid excuse for breaking a repeated promise to the American People.

(Why would any anti-government nut job trust the IRS with his tax returns?)

Hyper-partisan paranoia aside, if Trump needs to persist in his repeated lie to the American people by continuing to hide his tax returns from them, that is what he will try to do.

Americans can and should keep asking him to honor his word and come clean.

Turns out the NYT somehow got hold of his taxes from 1984-94; it appears he lost around 100 million almost each year. Some businessman eh? :roflol::roflol::roflol::roflol:

Legally, congress absolutely is entitled to see any tax returns they request. Refusing to honor congress' request is not legal and nothing but a delaying tactic. In the end, the courts will side with the rule of law and Congress will have the documentation they requested.

My tax returns are certainly no big secret. I am not a crook or a tax cheat. Pretty basic stuff. Why is Trump so reluctant to release his? Why didn’t he just say screw you, it’s none of your business when his GOP primary opponents asked him to release them in early 2016? Instead, he kept lying and stalling. This guy is a sleazebag and a liar. Evidently, many of his fans think it’s kind of cute or even heroic. I think we as Americans, no matter what side of the liberal vs conservative side we happen to be on can do a lot better. If this is the best the GOP can find, its pretty sad in my book.
