It's like Flat Earth or Holocaust Denial. You can make a good case for anything if you cobble together enough logical fallacies, half truths and outright lies. That doesn't prove that absolutely absurd conclusions are true, especially when they support an agenda.

You misspelled, "would pocket multi-hundred-thousand-dollar gifts from the community by selling their houses and seeking accommodation better suited to their needs and means."

 

They lived in accommodations suited to their needs and means until developers forced their property taxes to go up.

You are talking about people who have probably lived on the same farms for generations, and you are basically saying that they have no right to live on that land.

 

No they didn't. They were using land whose productive potential was beyond their needs, the subsidy to which was beyond their means to pay for.

They don't. They have no right to deprive others of their rights to liberty without making just compensation.

 

Interesting episode. It kicks off with a meeting where a black police official is warning Asians that they'll be targeted for crime if their home seems to signal that the occupants are Asian.

An Asian mayoral candidate talks at length about the failure of the San Fransico city government.

Ends with an interesting interview with a homeless vet of Mexican origin.

 

He is a loudmouthed imbecile who makes crappy YouTube videos. But, if he’s one of your heroes, far be it from me to step on your dreams.

Maybe because he deals in arguments, rather than petulance?

I think he's got a few holes in his intellect, but he does put his arguments out there for everybody to take a crack at. I've taken several cracks at him on his youtube channel, and... nobody says anything.

At the end of the day, he's a philosopher, and that means you have to be consistent in your argumentation. Complaining about white supremacy ain't no argument. It's just complaining.

If you think you have the intellectual brainpan to say something, then don't be shy. Let's hear your disagreements!

Honestly, there's not a lot to dissect. This series he's doing is all about emotion. Like when he's talking about those old school californians who are looking at rising house prices and complaining. Yeah, it happens. Where's the argument? What are the premises and conclusions based on those premises?

I do respect Molyneaux, but this California series is all ominous music and interviews with idiots, but that's not what true philosophers do? That's what idiots do to try and convince other idiots.

It's just feelings, which doesn't blow any air up my skirts. He's trying to appeal to emotion, which is a stupid loser game. Maybe he's just angry about his arguments not being all that appealing over the years, but he has to back down on that emotion garbage and get back to philosophy. He is fairly good at philosophy, so why is he woofing this "ooooh, there are so many people deciding to live in a city they can't afford to actually live in!!!!" emotional crap? Just stop, brah! You're being stupid.

 

Interesting take. I see it as Molynuex showing a lot of people a lot of problems that few people are aware of.

So, for example, people could "disect" the information presented in the video by proving that it's false.

I'm not emotional about it. I just think he needs to stop thinking he's all that. If you'll note, this california series is a collection of shorts that should have been one video. He's doing this because he doesn't think much of his audience's attention span.

btw: who doesn't know about the plight of SF and LA? There are lots of stories that people could tell about the downfall of CA, so why focus on skid row and the tenderloin? Those people have seen more camera crews than Arnold Schwarzenegger!

 

And the southern states don't have issues?? Is that why CA has to support all those moocher red states with their fed taxes.
