"The left is trying to overthrow the president of the US."

Of course. That is, and always has been, the object of the opposition party.

Of course. The worst thing I ever referred to him as was a "novelty president". Which he was though to be fair so is President Trump.

Oh trust me I completely understand his reasoning and his outrage is certainly justified. Trump says a whole lot of nonsense in his tirades but one thing he does say that is true is the fact that no other President has ever been treated the way he has been. Not even remotely close.

Point is, although his frustrations are warranted he is still the President of the United States and as President there is a time and place for things. In Trump's case the time and place is whenever he damn well wants it to be and that's not appropriate to me. The way I actually am as a person is not the same person that I am when I put on a uniform and go to work and sit at a table among powerful people making decisions. If you met me while I was at work you would meet a professional conducting himself in accordance with the position I hold. If you meet me outside of work you may run into me at my local bar as was the case last night as I drank way more than I should and goofing off with people half my age. Trump is "Trump" all the time which I admit I do actually respect because he's not putting on a facade, but that doesn't mean it's good.

I always joke with my friends and family and say that I am living vicariously through Trump because Trump is probably the closest thing any of them would get to having me as President if I had the money he has. A foul mouthed guy with no filter with a hot wife who talks trash to people on Twitter who will stand in front of the UN and tell the whole world to kiss my ass because I'm President of America and we have bigger guns than you lol.

The way I judge what Trump says or does is pretty simple. If it's something that makes me laugh and say "LOL that's some crap I would probably do if I were up there" then that means it's probably not good lol.

    Oh! Please!

    The whole “Birther” conspiracy

    GW was mercilessly attacked

Trump is a small boy who wants his own way all the time and when he is admonished screams “they are picking on me!”

One of the biggest issues is that he is in “common mode” all the time. We have formal behaviour and speech for a reason and it appalls me that someone could reach Trumps age without learning that

Look at the letter to the Turkish President- did that work?

Worse is how he has handed the arctic over to Russia and China

He SHOULD have negotiated a deal with Denmark to establish a presence in what is promising to be the biggest Aladdin’s cave of this or any century. Instead he threw a hissy fit picked up what few marbles he has and sulked off

There are members on this board who still refer to him as “obummer” or “the mooslim president” and it seems that every second day someone posts a picture of Michelle with a “penis”

You cannot claim that Trump has been “picked onl whilst ignoring the ongoing insults and derogatory remarks still circulating about the Obamas

The birther conspiracy thing Obama dealt with isn't even in the same hemisphere as the bombardment Trump gets from all sides, not even close. And yes GW was attacked often by the liberal media but nothing like the way they go after Trump. Many will say Trump's ill treatment is justified, which is fine, but it to claim that either GW or Obama were treated as negatively as Donald Trump is factually incorrect.

Folks have even legitimately done data pulls and see what percentage of Trump coverage is negative vs other Presidents in the same time frame. Trump is in a whole other ballpark. Many will argue that his massive negative coverage is because he's always doing negative stuff, which again is fine, justified or not his negative coverage far exceeds that of Presidents' Bush and Obama for the same time frame in Office. That is a factual statement.

As far as his "common mode" I agree with you as stated numerous times already. The fact that Trump is "Trump" all the time is both endearing and ridiculous to me. Part of me respects that, be yourself don't put on a facade. But there is a certain level of professionalism required in professional settings, especially as the President of the United States. And in terms of a professionalism scale of 1 to 10 Trump ranks somewhere in the realm of -496 most of the time.

Thank you for you honesty in your thoughtful post. Just one question. Given a decent choice, would you vote for Trump in 2020?

It would depend on who the other candidate was. I am not beholden to any particular party lines. I voted for Obama and I voted for Trump, something that makes many folks heads explode in bewilderment.

I will vote for whomever most closely aligns with my own personal beliefs. I know that I will obviously never be able to vote for someone who supports everything that I do, but I simply vote for whoever gets the closest regardless of what party, race, or gender they are.

The reason I can say with 100% certainty that I will vote for Trump in 2020 is because there is no single Democrat candidate out there right now who aligns more closely to my personal beliefs than Trump does. So unless they pull a bait and switch at the end and nominate somebody else we aren't aware of then Trump will receive my vote again.

He's the first to be ridiculed to this extent though as far as I can remember. If someone can provide evidence of another President being ridiculed to the same extent that Trump is then I am open to listening.

Only one I can recall to get this sort of treatment was Lincoln and it was coming from the Confederate States of America.

But again I agree, Trump acts like a 12 year old brat way more often than he should. The mere fact that the President of the United States takes time out of his day, nearly every day, to berate people on his Twitter account is pathetic. It's not even exclusive to political opposition in government either. Trump will get on Twitter and fuss at folks ranging from athletes to coaches to random celebrities and virtually anybody that he doesn't like.

I was trying to find it, but there was a thing with him getting into it on Twitter with what turned out to be a 14 year old high school girl who said something he didn't like and he responded. I don't know if it was actually his real account or that fake Trump tweet thing but the fact that I DON'T KNOW is the huge problem.

I, as who I believe to be a fairly rational adult human being, should not read tweets on a routine basis and not be able to immediately tell whether my President actually said that or if it was some teenager playing around with the fake Trump tweet thing on google.

There is a huge freakin' problem with that.....

He does whine and cry about it more than any other President, such a weak snowflake...he's more pathetic than Nixon whining abut the press...

This is the real Trump.. crude and stupid.

Trump's close friend wasn't a homosexual, he just liked having sex with men.

Threatening violence against gun owners is way worse that calling someone a bastard.

An immoral uncouth idiots with a twitter account is infinitely better than someone who who would seek to dismantle the constitution.

Why doesn't he just release the transcript of his phone call to the Ukraine and make this latest crisis go away?

"Why doesn't he just release the transcript of his phone call to the Ukraine and make this latest crisis go away?"

There is no transcript. Just a memorandum (telcom) of a telephone conversation with a disclaimer that it is not a verbatim transcript but a written compilation of the memory of a group of people assigned to listen.

    No transcript ... no recording.

Her comment about finally being proud to be an American (apparently because her husband was nominated to be president).

    Her smugness.

Her not wearing a bra in public.

To name just three things with the middle one being the major one.
