U.S.-led coalition tells Iraqi military it will withdraw from Iraq out of respect for the nation's sovereignty:

    https://twitter.com/Reuters/status/1214275758643929089

Not sure how this will all play out but I am guessing that Iraq will be in a lot of trouble trying to defend herself and to keep the peace.

    Thoughts on this breaking news?

Good! Let Iraq deal with their own problems. But, if they allow attacks on U.S. Soil (Embassy) or our people, then don't expect us to play nice. I can't wait for us to clear out of that **** hole.

It might be a good idea for all countries to follow that example.

That vacuum is going to be filled in no time. By pro-Iranian forces and IS of course.

So, including "legacy costs", we spent over $2 Trillion in Iraq?

With nothing to show for it?

Maybe we could've used that Taxpayer Money for Health Care and Education?

    What a WASTE.

    Thanks Alot, Bush!

The Republican Warmongers of the 21st Century cost the U.S. Taxpayers Trillions.

    Wow. :smh:

After years of sacrificing money, lives and toil, all we have left is a pro Iranian government. Our troops in Syria are now more exposed.

The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defense ministry’s Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.

Who is your source? CNN or the fake Indian? lol

They say here Germany leaves Iraq as well.

I know we had our differences but can you understand now why we are so pissed from Trumps sudden decissions?

Iran will gain power in Iraq.
The US backup for Syria will diminish.
The US won't get the rebuild business.
Iraq will find out if they have the will to defend their country.
The US influence in the Mid-East will be diminished.
    Bibi won't like it.
    Last long shot. Three Iraqs.

I'm sure your cooks and glory hole attendants will find an other job in germany.
Hell, if they grow a beard and speak with a foreign accent they may even be able to get their girlfriend back from Abdhul.

My thoughts are that Trump has opened up a can of worms. His assassination of General Qasem Soleimani is costing him in ways he didn't think about.

This "story" has ALREADY Been DISCREDITED by Multiple Media Sources (and, the letter has Already been PROVEN to be Fabricated).

What the Reddit/Twitter RW Noise Machine hopes to gain by posting (and spreading) this FAKE "Story" is anybody's guess.

Very sad to see this sort of FAKE Story wasting bandwidth in Current Events (at PF).:bored:

Democrats like Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, etc. voted for it. Barack Obama continued the spend. Trump seems to be the only one that understands "Sunk Costs".

... I mean... i guess? Terrorist cells have ebbed and flowed in the region for decades. War tends to bring the to the forefront though, as Iraq saw almost half of the worlds terrorist attacks in its' boarders in 2006 thanks to the invasion and subsequent war.

The constant destabilization by success Republican and Democrat Administrations since 2003 have only helped Terrorism flourish through Al Queda, ISIL, etc..This will only make things worse.

I was actually quite excited by Trump WRT his lack of appetite and constant campaign promises to withdraw troops and stop the wars. Another one bites the dust I guess.
