He campaigned to get out of places like Iraq. This looks like a campaign promise completed. Well over due in my humble opinion!
I was hoping this would happen. There's no need to continue stationing troops in Iraq, and given the Iraqis' complicity in the embassy attack we should consider closing that on the way out, too.
If we 'ban' these people from coming(the horror), they can have a million safe havens, they will never penetrate US Air, sea or Land mass again. It's not extreme, it is rational: If an ideology prevents one from assimilating with Western society, then it's hereby banned from the United States lol. I don't have any ambitions of becoming UK, or France or Germany.,
I don't want endless wars and I don't want our troops (or any other nations troops) coming home in body bags. Iraq was just another endless quagmire that would never really end. Someone had to pull us out. In hindsight, it was most likely a mistake to go in back in 2003. Or at least, the strategy going in was poor. How it plays out from here is anyone's guess.
"Repositioning Forces" is NOT the same as a "Total USA Troop Withdrawal". Anybody can ASSUME whatever they want. But, totally LMAO at The idea of a TOTAL Withdrawal Ain't Happenin'...
Let me say it this way, we have build bases there, have 500 troops there. Aircrafts and all. Put lots of efforts there. 3 days ago Trump while eating ice crea,m decided to kill an iranian general. He did not inform or consult us but we face the consequences. Do you understand how that creates anger at your allies?
"Possible" Withdrawal ISN'T "Withdrawal". Where does the RW even come up with this stuff? Jumping to conclusions over a letter (that still has not been authenticated by the Pentagon) claiming that the "U.S. is LEAVING Iraq"? In Washington, a Pentagon spokesman said he could not immediately confirm its authenticity. Get back to me when the last boot on the ground departs Iraqi Soil. Will Gen. Bigfoot be there to lead the last troops Home? Until then?
As allies we would like to be implemented into decissions that hsve an effect on us. The attack on the general was absolute idiocy. Not thought through and triggered consequences that were not taken into consideration. Allies should communicate.9
Literally, I was there the day german forces left Doha. They haven't been back since. 2003 was a long time ago.
Disagree. Killing a terrorist, which he was, is never a bad idea. He was not some innocent Iranian military figure, he was a terrorist. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opin...donald-trump-iran-war-iraq-column/2805482001/ How do you know Germany and The United States were not coordinating?
Germany is an ally? Then maybe we should let Germany rebuild Kharg Island for their real friends in Iran real soon.
Merkel said she was not informed of this in a press conference. She added that she finds it "unfortunate behavior" in her typical cryptic language. As we can see, evrything now goes downhill. And its not first time. When trump threw the kurds under the bus, we were not informed either. That merkel invited putin to discuss the development and not trump is seen as slap in the face. Look man, adult leaders behave like children. Thats where we are now. That Merkel and Trump dislike each other knows evryone. But they should act professional and i see that also in our direction.
