The Iraqi Parliament has spoken, and their sovereignty is going to be respected. Now may the parliaments across Europe do likewise!
Its ok. You obviously dont understand what i mean and believe US can do decissions over allies heads.
I don't think you understand. Iraq made the decision that it didn't want foreign troops on their soil anymore. Maybe you should be blaming Iraq for this decision because it looks like the US is going to honor that request. Germany is free to work out their own deal with Iraq or to leave their troops in place.
He said "no decision" has been made. Trump has absolutely pushed for getting the U.S. out of Mid-East Conflicts, because he understands sunk costs. Please quit putting your words in other's mouths.
Buddy now your defense minister days the letter is true but send by mistake. With all due honesty...i assume you served in military. Do you have the slightest idea what image ypur country creates right now? Half an hour ago our defense minister said she was informed by USA that your troops get pulled out. Now your defense minister says that was a mistake. Is there a coup going on?
UPDATE: Now the US is staying.... Hmmmmm. Rueters jumped the gun and published a false story. U.S. military has no plans to leave Iraq -defense secretary https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...-it-will-withdraw-from-iraq-letter/ar-BBYFVYS So, who is in favor of us staying in Iraq? lol
I bet all the people saying we were going to “respect their sovereignty” will suddenly shift course. We need to leave these money pits — that includes drone strikes.
You can bet that billions of people around the world will be dancing in the streets when pods trump kicks the bucket. It will be the most popular event in human history.
It was obviously too good news to be true. Israel would have been crying....but lets look at the position of the US and friends troops in Iraq. https://www.juancole.com/2020/01/parliament-threatens-sanctions.html Frankly if the US people care about it's troops it would make sense for them to want them home. The damage has been done.
I agree with you, it was a total waist of money, but let’s not forget a lot of people including Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Joe Biden, and Chuck Schumer voted in favor of the war. I don’t care what the constitution says, we should have taken some of their oil & also made Kuwait pay us for getting their oil fields back in the 1990’s desert storm. Then we hang around & rebuild iraq on our dime. That money should have been refunded on Iraq oil. I am not saying take it all, but take enough to repay us for rebuilding their country. We should have made Kuwait pick up our tab for Desert storm.
Ok, I'm confused. When The Iraqi President forced Obama to adhere to Bush Jr's signed agreement to withdraw troops, he was weak and should have forced them to let them stay. Now when it happens to Trump, the decision is made and should be respected?
Which means it's 100% true... Didja see the COS to the Sec Def just announces he's leaving the Pentagon? Statement is it's not related to work, but they always say that, don't they?
