    There was no Muslim Ban, but the no ban act addressed all bans, the target being the China travel restrictions, and planned restrictions on travel from Europe. Pelosi is slow, but not as slow as Biden. The No Ban Act was sponsored on March 5, 2020.

    Officials at the CDC have said that the goal of screening isn’t to stop Covid from getting into the U.S., but to slow it down.

    Trump; "We are doing very precise medical screenings at our airports"

    In other words, Trump's very precise medical screenings at our airports have only slowed the spread of covid19, whereas banning flights to the U.S., or a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all travellers would have PREVENTED a spread.

    It is what it is.

    This isn't an anti American rant, but I think it was inevitable that this would take a hold in USA.

    Firstly, you guys are awesome at taking down obvious threats but a germ is the kind of thing you shrug your shoulders at and not take seriously until it's too late. Also, American anti-authoritarianism and being wary of government control is usually a good thing, except for a pandemic where you need compliant people and centralized control.

    If city was going to get hit hard it would be NY.
    Massive numbers of air moments, densely populated and everybody moves around in an underground virus sharing system.

    USA has a lower death rate, lower cases and more testing PER CAPITA than many of the advanced northern EU countries.

    Trump has dropped the ball in some areas, but loading all the blame on him is nothing more than opportunistic political sniping at a time when everyone should be focused on kicking this virus back to China whence it came.

    CDC staff will also take travelers' temperatures with a handheld thermometer that doesn't touch the skin and watch for signs of a cough or difficulty breathing.

    In the case of travelers who appear sick, the CDC will evaluate them further to determine whether the passenger should be taken to a hospital for further care. However, the first two U.S. cases, in Seattle and Chicago, involved travelers who didn't show symptoms at the airport.

    They supposedly took temps and asked if you had the virus

    Yeas...that's effective huh?

    No quarantine...no testing..

    Certainly China and South Korea have done a fare better job of testing...resulting in a much better response and lower infection and death rates.

    Given that the test did not exist and the testing infrastructure didn't exist and the country was dependent on the same swamp that Democrats love and Trump ran on draining is why testing was slow to start. The NIH swamp had to use their own reagent, which turned out to be a false start. NIH not being National Institutes for Health, but Not Invented Here. If 60.8 million Swine flu infections in 2009-2010 under the Healthcare genius who taxed medical device manufacture out of the country didn't motivate the need for a mass testing capability, what was it that should have flagged the current administration to prioritize it while fighting off one hoax after another?

    The "later than sooner" preventive measures may have cost several countries at least 1 Covid19 doubling time, thus, at its peak, highly significant.

    Example;

    Switzerland; "we should have closed our borders a week ago"
    = 2 Covid19 doubling time.

    It was low key in order not spook whole airports. They instructed to self isolate for 14 days. CDC has all this information available for very low cost of FREE!

    I've got zero agenda. I'm simply stating Trump is being lashed while EU countries are doing WAY worse.
    What about France,significantly worse in every singe measure., where's the knives out for Macron?
