Well, you must admit that it was a cheap shot by Trump.
Doesn’t mean I’m going to vote for Joe.
As someone who was in accounting for many years, I do not see how this would delay the payments. And I still doubt treasury is using preprinted blank checks - with the number of checks they issue every year it makes more sense to print the checks on the fly in their entirety.

"Who put up the idea in the first place?" For crying out loud, the only idea he put up is to have his name associated with cash handouts.
I predicted when the bill passed that he would want to sign the checks, failing that he got his name on them anyway, that he will make a show of signing the first checks publicly (reports are he's still trying for that) and that he will tell the lucky few that get one signed by him that they should keep them as an investment because they'll be worth a lot more with his signature.

Everything has to be about him unless it's bad. This is why he's portrayed as a baby and a snake oil man. I wish he'd shut up and do the job.

Because of the MIrC ink used at the bottom. It is much more expensive.

God forbid that anyone give credit where credit is due, that would be unconstitutional, provided you use the democratic version, and provided it would apply to Trump.
The double standard is so overwhelmingly blatant and obvious, that the only people blind to it are those doing it.

The objective, and track record- is to make sure Trump gets credit for nothing, no matter what it is or who is responsible- UNLESS it's negative, then the fields reverse. It's the most glaring abuse of character and integrity ever seen in American politics.

    Just a thought,
If you are offended by receiving a check with your president's name on it, please do not cash it and if it was electronically deposited, please withdraw that money and give it to somebody who is not offended and will put it to good use.

WHY is it due. WTF did he do? Did he write the bill? Was he involved in negotiations beyond complaining that the Democrats were holding it up because they wanted checks and more for the people and less for the corporations? Did he not by doing so actually come out against the very thing you and he now wish to take credit for?

Integrity is never a word I'd use with this man.

You don’t need to modify software - you just add 3 words on memo field. Any check printing software accommodates that. And generally you need to type those three words “President Donald Trump” only once.

The mod to the software is not complicated. The timing of the use of the modded software and the regular is the issue.
It's not a case of we'll print 20 of these then 50 of those. We're talking millions of checks at a time.

That toner is cheaper than preprinted checks.
I used to be a financial controller at a company with less than 50 employees. We used magnetic inc on our checks and printed them on the fly. Our blank checks were just paper with watermarks.
If a 50 employee company can afford it, I bet the US department of the treasury can afford it as well.

Dozens of checks don't justify the time needed to run checks twice. Hundreds of millions does.

As I understand it, the general idea was his. If you can apply the word "integrity" to any democratic leader of today and not have your fingers crossed behind your back or be fighting the urge to puke...
You would be a person with no moral compass as all. To compare Trump to that and say he has no integrity- drops the bar a lot farther.

Why would they do it twice? As far as I know, not a single check was printed yet.

The MIRC is the preprinted part with the bank routing information. It doesn't change from check to check.

Don't believe everything you read, especially a liberal site. No checks are being held up because of this.

If you use printer with magnetic toner the MIRC is printed at the time the check is printed.

The entire check is printed with it. Not just the bank data at the bottom. Wasteful but then liberals tend to be more fiscal conservatives than free spending Republicans.
