    Trump should have done this a long time ago. And I hope Immigration stays suspended for a long time until extreme vetting can be put into place. And if immigration does start up in the future, it must be based on AMERICAS needs, not the needs of foreigners. Expect the lib/prog/socialists to be in court "judge-shopping" real soon

    President Trump announced late Monday he will soon sign an executive order "to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States," in what appeared to be a drastic escalation of his efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic and boost the economy.

    The declaration came hours after U.S. equity markets plunged, with oil prices turning negative for the first time in history. Also on Monday, three states -- Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina -- revealed plans to begin reopening some businesses.

    "In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!" the president tweeted.

    The Democrats are gonna freak out cause this puts them in a conundrum.

    They're locking down their states but do they add more people risking more exposure..

    Hmmm....

    Answer: The Democrats will start yelling 'racist' to distract their voting base but won't stop POTUS Trump.

    Democrats will scream "he's racist, the virus is already here"...watch and see. And just because the virus is already here, does not mean we should import more cases, we can spread it just fine, amongst ourselves, without help from abroad.

    You do realize it's the only way Democrats can replenish their ranks. Immigration, legal or illegal, is how Democrats stay in power.

    All the echo chamber nonsense in this thread aside, temporarily halting immigration is the right choice. Our borders are already shut, it only makes sense to limit travel from other places too.

    They always do; but it is getting more difficult for them to find high enough level liberal activist judges that a rebalanced higher court won't pretty much automatically strike down the resulting ruling.

    We aren't going to see Dems filling this thread with protest. Why would we? It is the perfect rally message at a silly and insignificant time - but the bait was taken. As I watched the presser yesterday, with Trump walking back all the comparisons to the flu, I wondered what he might fill their heads with to create another talking point. And voila!
