Does it matter if they do?

The inference here is that the president's speech should be designed to prevent anyone who might misunderstand it from harming themselves. What that imaginary group of people might think is bounded by an infinite range of stupidity that exists in certain people's imaginations. What person can be held to this standard of not speaking in a way that risks an imagined harm to an imagined group people? If CNN does get sued, should the judgement be to prevent CNN from reporting news that can be imagined to harm an imagined group?

Now that we have heard the "tall tale" completely fabricated version of the current and historical uses of Disinfecting UV Light technology, anyone interested should review the following.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6122858/

And to reiterate. Public companies are indeed developing "injected" "disinfecting" UV light. Watch the pressers this week and my guess is it will be discussed in such simplistic terms that even the most TDS addlepated LW can manage not to turn up and drink the nearest bleach bottle.

Anyone who heard Trump speak and heard Lysol or Bleach and inject yourself with a syringe and didn't realize he was asking the doctor about some sort of medical "disinfectant" which can mean any sort of drug, is a complete IDIOT!!!! Sure, if Trump stopped, thought, took a breath and turned to the doctor and asked, "Are there treatments that can internally disinfect the body kind of like we can disinfect a surface of germs...flush out the lungs out...is that possible, maybe you can explain in medical terms? Something for us to look into?" It might have gone over better. But whatever. The research is going to come out in a few days and the MSM will have egg on their face as usual, but will continue to push the BS.

Don't know what a judge would say about such a lawsuit, is it news when the reporting is NOT what was said but an irresponsible misrepresentation?

When I was a kid my brother and I got ringworm on our heads and one of the treatments at the doctors office was sitting below a UV light to kill the parasite. I went to parties in the 60's where people had black lights which are UV lights. My home pest control has a UV light to attract insects and then zap them. The SUN emits UV light.

Who gets to decide what is news, and what is something that must be prevented from being said because it might risk harm to a group you imagined?

Trump asked about injecting disinfectant . . . the context being, if you saw the report he was responding to, bleach. He asked about injecting bleach. It is true that he didn't "tell" people to do it, but it was still a stupid question. Trumpists on the forum tried to scramble to claim the didn't actually say that. He did. He admitted he did. His new excuse is that it was a joke question that he was asking to reporters . . . which no rational person can believe because he didn't ask the question to reporters. He asked the question to the medical experts on his staff.

He needs to admit that he had a stupid idea and move on. His followers need to admit that he had a stupid idea and move on. It isn't the end of the world. People have stupid ideas sometimes. Even the Dear Leader.

You telling me I am glad the person died from drinking fish tank cleaner is dead because it's one less Democrat voter is a lie of the most despicable type and it's a complete fabrication FROM YOU and then you have the nerve to tell ME to retract? Zero shame.

Well.... there is the fact that they were so inadequately prepared that we got Trump.

But apart from that, Trump is the President of those who were "inadequately prepared" as he is of those who were. And this is an important point given that I'm pretty sure that most of his base did not attend expensive private schools...

Maybe one day he'll understand what being President is. Problem is that won't happen while he's President*

Hands down the title belongs to Trump. But being an idiot is not the main issue. Being incompetent at his job is what is relevant on my post. Starting by understanding what it is. And what it's not. A communicator of medical advice, it's not!

Irrelevant because I have not said a word about "liability". I have only spoken about responsibility.

No, for two reasons: First because I'm not the President. And second because I haven't even tried to convince anybody to not take any option seriously. I have, however, advised everybody to not take the asterisk President* seriously. Does that count?

We could just go back to bloodletting. Instead of those expensive ventilators, we could just load patients up up leaches.

Or we could gather up a few small animals and sacrifice them on an alter..

Better yet, we can create little itsy bitsy robots, nanobots, and program them to seek out the virus and destroy it.

The asterisk President* says ingesting Lysol will cure Coronavirus, the MSM tells them that it doesn't. But it's the latter the only one you criticize.

You would need to point to me to where CNN said that taking chloroquine could cure coronavirus and won't kill anybody, or I'd have to believe that your post is garbage.

After careful review of this entire thread, it becomes ever more apparent that we make the right choice in November.

And I do mean the 'Right" choice. Because the other choice is clearly the "Wrong" choice.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that he was talking to the head of Homeland security. The discussion seems to have been about disinfecting the environment, hand rails, door knobs, counters and such things.

It was Trump who asked if these same things could be done on humans.

However I do find the real time example, of what psychologists have been saying about conservatives for years, quite interesting.

According to the literature, many among the faithful, at first, thought Trump's remarks sounded rather dumb, but as the resistance mounts, many are led to believe the wisdom of Donald Trump, the president of low expectations. They get caught up in things about drinking bleach, which isn't even part of the issue at hand. If Trump didn't say to drink bleach, which no one is claiming he did, then by their logic, the Democrats made false claims, which they didn't. So, even though Trump made himself look rather stupid, made even more dramatic in light of his proclamations of knowing more about everything than everyone else, his following just sees another unwarranted attack on Trump, the president of low expectations.

As long as you have low enough expectations, Trump will never fail.

So now you are denying you said this? You cant be serious, give honesty and integrity a try.

    Red text look familiar?

Right. Because you don't care that a human being is dead because they believed this President. All you care about is the fact that that's one less vote for Democrats in November.

    Disgusting!

    Well there's these people:

"But people certainly listened to his words as officials from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency sent out an alert one day after receiving more than 100 calls about ingesting disinfectants as a possible treatment for COVID-19, according to the Governor’s office, and reported by ABC News."

Right, because the only difference between last year, and 18 hours after the president made his comments were the president's comments.

What an oddly specific time frame. Why did we go back an entire year, and not 18 hours before the president's comments? Could it be because the incidents reported 18 hours before the president's comments are higher too? Could it be that since children younger than 6 comprise almost half of all poison exposures, the schools & day cares are all closed, and people are hyper cleaning everything including their grocery packaging, that the children are more at risk now of getting into household cleaning supplies?

Nah. Let's just go with the premise that the entire doubling is due to people who heard the president, and figured that drinking bleach was a good idea. Let's bury the idea that unsupervised children are getting into chemicals they shouldn't due the specific circumstances of the lock down.

Down at the very end of the article.

Yeah, better not lead with that. Someone might confuse it with actual news.

An injectable one the scientist are working on or a breathable one, wouldn't it be great IF we HAD something like that AS HE WAS SAYING.

Well what do you expect when the MSM goes hyper falsely claiming Trump said the ingest household cleaners even reporting brand names which he never uttered, this is EXACTLY what happens when false stories are presented as fact.
