I’d call it a legal response. I can’t be held accountable and punished for something I’ve never done.

If you've read this thread, you'll observe that plenty of people believe you can.

Please go review the thread "Reparations for Slavery" in the Race Relations section.
I, along with a poster named Esau, have addressed all your questions in that thread.

Oh I’m well aware of the abject ignorance most people have of constitutional law.

Amazing.....in a country that the poor...like I was...a minority, like I am, can make something of themselves without excuses, have to be told that there are reasons beyond my control can't make it. Well, there is the problem. Thankfully didn't have someone like you in my life giving me excuses why I can't...versus why I should.

What are your ideas for or against reparations? I don't understand your post.

I was not referring to black culture, I was referring to American culture that needs to change to right the legacy of slavery.
What stress hormones do to a child's brain is not opinion. Yes the stress incurred by a child living in poverty is variable, that is why I used the word may. Those stressors may be frequent moving, food insecurity, friction between family members or abnormal parental bonding. Those stressors can be relieved with money. A basic income would do that. A third of black kids live in poverty but also a third of white kids in parts of Appalachia live in poverty. A case could made that they should get a basic income as well and if they don't, that would do nothing to heal the racial divide. My ideas to help kids living in poverty would not work well in a rural setting and I think be more effective in getting kids to graduation and beyond.

No matter what form so-called "reparations" may take, be they monetary or otherwise, the simple fact is that they will simply not do any good. No change that can be brought about, will ultimately serve to change basic human nature itself, which is what justified slavery in the first place. For whatever reason, different races choose to not view other races as if they were human beings no different from themselves, but rather as a lesser standard that can be mistreated without concern.

The simple truth of the matter is the human species is hardwired at all levels to engage in a tribalist, "us versus them" mentality, and simply cannot break from this. The black community will always be singled out for abuse and mistreatment, because they will always be viewed as being different from anyone else.

blacks need to pay reparations to whites. They got free transportation from that sh*thole that is Africa. They got free room and board. And they have been leeching off the backs of whites for a long time.

    Thank you for trolling.
You are consistently fatalistic in you comments.

You can't tell me attitudes have not changed since the 60's. Whites could be proudly racist and now it is nothing to be proud of. I agree, racism will never go away. It is human nature to categorize. But categories can change. Who would you choose to fix your computer Bubba Johnson or Stephen Chu? I would choose Mr. Chu, but either choice is racist. I believe with more educated middle class African Americans views will change.

With that attitude nothing I or anyone else says will change your mind about reparations for slavery. That's OK. Do you realize that Whites are a minority in the world? And that it may just be a matter of time before they are considered " as a lesser standard that can be mistreated without concern"?
P.S. Enslavement of other human beings is NEVER justified. Only a morally bankrupt person would think otherwise.

Then why has change not occurred? Why has the passage of the civil rights act and voting act not been sufficient to bring about such change? Why is the current situation no better than it was over five decades ago?

They already are considered as such.

Has it been argued that slavery was justified? If so then point it out. All that is being stated, is that no measure of so-called "reparations" will ever be sufficient to fix what has been done.

I am assuming Moriah is trolling. There is no possible way somebody could be that fired up ftarded, and still operate a computer.

No matter the race, with poverty comes an increase in crime and violence. That is true in every culture. Institutional racism has prevented African Americans from obtaining wealth so a high proportion live in or near poverty. It leads to a higher proportion of crime and violence committed by the black community and that is all the self segregated white community sees of the black community besides those working in menial jobs. Then they "categorize".

No more trolling than what she is doing. Difference being, hers is trolling that you appreciate.

I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. If she actually thinks trillions of dollars of reparations are deserved or coming, then her r-tardation would be monumental.

Please pay him no mind, Edna. I learned a long time ago to just ignore people who don't bring anything to the debate. Calling names and insulting people is junior high school stuff---very pathetic.

Trying to point the finger at others is no defense for you being a troll.

Pointing the finger at one person as a troll, while ignoring another, earlier troll in the same thread is an obvious sign of you having a pathetic agenda.

Giving a thoughtful opinion on a complicated subject even if I disagree with it is not trolling.
Calling someone stupid and retarded is trolling. Do you see the difference?
Now can you explain why my opinions are a "pathetic agenda" without name calling and as an adult?
