North Korea - Are they being honest about their numbers?

    North Korea has mostly maintained they did not have any cases of COVID-19 as the rest of the world worked to address the problems within their own borders.

    Recently, though, they are escalating their virus response.

    Do you think NK is lying about having no cases for months and months?

    What do they gain by lying about it?

    What do you think their escalating virus response indicates?

    Yes.

    I'm sure it has something to do with maintaining an image of power, and not appearing like a country weakened by COVID.

    They've been lying and their COVID problem is getting worse.

    So, we may never know the real story from there or it will be years and years from now. I recall reading, early on, that they allegedly had one case. A man had traveled and returned to NK with the virus. He was supposedly executed. Again, though, who knows what true or not related to that country.
