“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” said Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, according to NBC Chicago. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”

“That is reparations,” Atkins continued. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

The unrest was prompted by a social media post urging people to converge on Chicago’s business district after police shot a man on the South Side around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Latrell Allen, 20, was charged with attempted murder Monday after firing on officers, according to Chicago police. A video posted on Facebook around 6:30 p.m. falsely claimed that officers had shot and killed a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting prompted hundreds of people to descend on downtown Chicago early Monday with vandals smashing the windows of dozens of businesses and making off with merchandise, cash machines and anything else they could carry, police said.

Almost the whole Chicago govt is black and is Democrat. The Democrats got what they voted for. It's obvious they want to live in a s***hole. This is the reason that a lot of people in the country are turning their backs on BLM. It is an organization that is promoting violent lawlessness in direct consort with Antifa and that is directly the opposite of what Dr. King represented. They are doing more harm for blacks than good. That's too bad.

 

This is another example of BLM destruction. Many of these businesses were black owned. Many of these businesses supplied medication and food to black senior citizens. Now these senior citizens are having a problem getting food and medication.

KSTP reports on the issue, the latest challenge facing businesses as they try to recover from widespread arson and looting in late May and early June. Nearly 1,500 businesses were heavily damaged in the riots, which spun out of protests following the death of George Floyd.
Minneapolis officials say that about 20 buildings have been torn down already, but they blame a state law that requires property taxes to be "fully paid" before clearing land.
That's been a problem for some businesses, who even before the riots were coping with a loss of revenue due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
