I'm not aware of any other respiratory virus that causes long-term damage to various body systems. Be that as it may, the virus is causing all kinds of problems for the entire world regardless of how we want to quantify it or who is to blame.

Trump wouldn't have pulled together a Task Force of experts, screened and shut down China travel, gotten CDC/FDA to loosen regulations of getting tests, or ramped up PPE production as quickly as humanly possible if he didn't take the virus seriously. You've turned against him for doing one thing wrong out of a lot he did correctly? That seems mighty "purist" to me.

The fact that we had a Task Force press conference daily signals how very seriously this administration took the virus. Trump sees the forest (big picture) and hires experts to take care of the trees (details). When the press asks him about trees, he often screws up the answer.

Trump's biggest competition is Trump. Biden's biggest competition is Biden. So goes another election cycle.

 

Stories are anecdotes. All you have are stories. The other side has stories too, but unlike you they also have scientific evidence that they are right. Excess deaths. The evidence is on their side. You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The facts say you are wrong.

As for what Xi told Trump in February, I wasn't privy to that conversation, but I do know that the HHS had declared a Public Health Emergency for the U.S. in January so one could presume there were grounds for the declaration. Of course, this came shortly after China locked down Wuhan and other parts of Hubei province which may have caught your attention.

Can we only imagine how the left would've reacted during impeachment if Trump said a Pandemic might be coming shut it down, even though we only had 15 cases 3 weeks after Trump talked with ole BOB. This whole thing is Ludacris, the scientist didn't know what they didn't know ON FEB 7th. Let's get something straight by the end of the month on FEB 27th, Trump had a coronavirus task force when only 15 people in America had been infected, 15! The WHO had finally named the virus and our scientist were telling everyone in their briefings it was airborne and they were already buying up ppe, fauci was saying mask don't work and to not change your daily lives. This is 3 weeks after this interview with BOB. After this briefing, Biden was calling Trump xenophobic, Nancy said come to China town on the 27th, Cuoma on March 5th said don't panic stay calm we've seen these things before. I get trying to get your man in the whitehouse but anyone saying the President should've created a panic after he shut the border down to China and before we started seeing the virus in the US is a partisan hack.

The doctors don't pocket the reimbursements. And the testing is a separate issue, but it is something we should be doing during, you know, a pandemic. We'd have saved a hell of lot of money if we had aggressively tested from the beginning instead of dragging our feet.

Other countries managed to roll out more accurate testing and much more quickly. Surely you know that by now. And the CDC mistakenly underestimating the threat of the virus doesn't change the fact that Trump deliberately misrepresented the threat of the virus.

 

Democrats say that President Trump needs to "listen to the scientists." And when he does, they attack him for listening to the scientists.

This is all you got, a media spin job that misrepresents what he actually said while he was taking steps (that democrats attacked him for) to ensure safety? Remember that congress had the same information he did and for the most part responded similarly. A good leader maintains calm while taking necessary action to minimize the damage, which seems to be exactly what he did. This isn't a gotcha, ya got nothing, dems have nothing and are getting desperate.
