    Me too.

Thanks for that post, it is good to see that good-hearted Republicans still exist. Actually, in real life they are more common than what is represented on internet forums. On a sad day, it gives one hope for the future.

She said she would renounce her US citizenship and move to New Zealand if Trump were elected, then didn't have the character and decency to resign her seat on the SC. I think we should honor her lack of character and deny her burial on American soil since she hated the American people and their choice of President. Democrats are mostly atheists so many of them would reject tax money being spent on exorcising the demon's remains as illiegal re the 1st Amendment separating Church and State, plus it would be racist toward demons and evil scum. The ACLU would handle the case.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty, let me chuck you into this flock of lovely pigeons....

You know even if Trump loses in November (and I still think he'll scrape home) this could be his legacy, if he could get a lasting conservative majority on the SC he would still be one up on his opponents. Then again, Joe Biden could use this to his advantage, try to fire up his base?

Heck at first i didnt want to see trump go to jail due to how bad the nation would look even a xprez. But those feelings are gone with how corrupt the guy is he deserves it.

    Edit
Maybe him and coverup barr could be cellmates and play hide the turnip with each other.

On a side note if moscow mitch goes thru with rushing it the dems should pull one from the republican playbook and go disrupt all the hearings pouting like two year olds. Maybe fondle some turnips on the way in to act like locker room gym jordan.....

IF the GOP goes down this road after what happened with Garland it might not end at expanding the court. Legislation to make DC a state has already passed the House, and Puerto Rico is having a vote on becoming a state on election day. There could easily be additional Dem Senators, Congressional districts and EC votes by 2022 or 2024.

The GOP & its supporters have already as much as declared that they plan to ignore voters by use of gerrymandering and make it as hard as possible for people they assume are Dem voters to vote. Now they plan to game the system again to pack SCOTUS. Why on earth would the Dems feel any restraint about using their position to game the system in other ways?

I think it's a fine strategy. And the repubs brought it on themselves when they ignored Garland.

If the Dems control the Senate after 2021, it would be madness for them to try to pack the Court. Remember, the Senate is normally going to be controlled by the Russians, um... I mean Republicans because of all the shitty little states with no people who get the same amount of Senators as states that actually have populations. Getting rid of the filibuster was madness and short sighted considering the reality that the Russians will normally control the Senate.

Moscow Mitch trashed the fillibuster for SCOTUS.

    He is hypocritical beyond shame.

Packing the Court is the appropriate response

Yes, Sen McConnell, finished what the Dems started with the Nuclear Option.

Look, the Biden Rule was in play, the Senate followed it under the Obama Admin...obviously there has been some fall out and disagree with Biden's Rule...so I don't think we need it anymore...there are a lot of things that Biden did in the Senate that we have had to change....this is merely one of them.

Packing the Court is an option for hte left...they will need to win the Senate, keep the House and also win the Oval to change the law.

And Democrats said We should all trust the election process. And what did THEY do? THEY CALLED IT RIGGED WHEN HE WON!!!! They blamed it on Russia without evidence or proof, and have been crying ever since. Damn you’ve got a selective memory.

Ways like mail in voting maybe? What would politics in America look like if Democrats were to stop playing fair? It boggles the mind.

She should have stepped down years ago. There needs to be an age limit. At law firms the partners ask the seniors to retire once they can’t stay awake for more than 5 mins. It was shameful how she was allowed to hold the position well past her expiration date. Also goes to show how simple the job is if you can remain employed while spending most of your time in a bed. Think they job should be more demanding and require more lucent minds.

Can't speak for others, but I've always rated the reelection of Trump is unlikely. Not impossible, but simply unlikely, and the past few weeks seem to have solidified that because...

Judge orders Michigan to accept mail-in ballots for 2 weeks after Election Day

Sept. 18 (UPI) -- A Michigan judge on Friday ordered elections officials to accept mail-in ballots for two weeks after the 2020 election as long as they're postmarked before Election Day.

The ruling substantially increases the amount of time ballots can be accepted in the state. Under existing law, officials count only mail-in ballots received by 8 p.m. on Election Day
    .

Get that? The judge overturned existing law.

    But wait, there's more!

In addition to extending the deadline for receiving mail-in ballots, Stephens also said a third party can submit a mail-in or absentee ballot for a voter -- a practice described by critics as ballot harvesting.

    As the judge ruled:

This court enjoins MCL 168.932(f) in this election from 5:00 p.m. Friday October 30, 2020 until the close of the polls on November 3, 2020, in so far as it limits the class of persons who may render an absent voter assistance. As a result, a voter casting an absent voter ballot in the November 2020 general election may select any individual the voter chooses to render assistance in returning an absent voter ballot, but only for the limited time period when assistance from the clerk is not required, i.e., between 5:01 p.m. on the Friday before the election and the close of polls on Election Day.

So in other words, the judge also overturned the law, making ballot harvesting legal.

So by having a partisan judge overturned the existing law in order to open the door wide open to electoral fraud means that it would be almost impossible for Trump to win Michigan, no matter how many votes Trump legitimately.

So the lessons I take from this is that Democratic judges ignore the law and constitution to get their way, so the right should do what we can to get a judge who respects the constitution on the court. You guys are cheaters and intend to steal the election. We should recognize that.

From the sounds of it most of you do not know who the Justice was who died, how competent she was and how her decisions were apolitical. To become a Supreme Court Justice in the US I appreciate the amount of politics involved that you guys are discussing and we have the same political manouvering in Canada with the Prime Minister of the day and who he chooses as well but can I also state as a Canadian who is neutral to your political concerns with the next appointment and strictly limited to my role over the years as a lawyer that your Supreme Court Justices for the most part are apolitical and like Ginsberg are damn competent and have the most difficult job in the world. The amount of information they must process is amazing and they all have to engage in specific form of logical reasoning so they are not as political as you think. Most of their decisions are determined by the content of the legal issues not some imposed political belief and they have to do an intricate act of balancing out arguments like an Algebra equation until they can come to a conclusion as to what is the best way to resolve a complex issue consisting of hundreds of sub-issues. There work is time-consuming, damn right boring, and requires a disciplined, focused, obsessively detailed approach.

In that regard your top court has rendered excellent decisions that go on to serve as examples of how many courts and their Judges and we lawyers shape our arguments. They make the law more predictable and consistent. For that job, they keep us one step removed from our primal behaviour of fighting on the streets.

For that reason I defer to her work and passing.

I would say the same for any Supreme Court Judge. They have a job most people would never want.
