Republicans always strive to be a 'big tent' party, where everyone is welcome.

Democrats thrive on flawed identity politics, which puts people in groups above their own individuality, resulting in a divided country.

    Just look at the riots.

Every rational person in the US was appalled at George Floyd's death as well as others. But when the peaceful protests became hate-fueled riots, they crossed the line between good and evil.

Thankfully we can see evidence that normal people don't accept identity politics as religion.

We all know there are a few bad apples, and we all know to not let them spoil the whole bunch too.

LMAO, yeah, like Sen McCain and Flake come to mind :)

That said, I doubt that shift will make a difference.

Individuals can have personal issues with one another within a party, but everyone is always welcome.

Now why ever would the gays be turning away from the left?
'Tis a puzzlement. A real head scratcher.

However, 10 percent of the U.S. men who said they "do not support [Trump] at all" said that they will vote for him regardless.

Well this sounds pretty ridiculous lol
Hornet may not be a reliable polling outlet.

I would love for it to be true.

But I think this is almost certainly bullshit.

There is no way that many LGBTQ groups will vote republican. They should, as its true the right doesn’t care about your identity as long as you act correctly, it’s the left that groups people up by race, sex, sexual preference, etc.

I would love to be proven wrong, but I just dont believe it.

I doubt Sen Graham would take the same positions if Sen McCain were around. :)
This is the party of Trump now, the Republicans allowed it, now it is their bed, and it is beholden to Trump, hence those that are invited need a nod from Trump otherwise they are pushed back and most likely out. I.e., name one prominent Senator (R) that has consistently gone against Trump and still is a leader of the party.

    From Your Link:

UPDATE, Sept. 20: As Hornet’s survey results have now been widely reported on, it’s important to note what can and should be extrapolated from this data — or, better yet, what cannot be and what should not be. Hornet’s survey was a voluntary, opt-in survey of 10,000 Hornet users; those users received a one-minute survey in their Hornet inbox. It’s important to acknowledge the obvious inherent biases that come with any opt-in survey, and for that reason, one must be careful in unfairly extrapolating from the data itself.

It would simply not be proper to extrapolate from an opt-in survey such as this a prediction of voter turnout in the 2020 U.S. election — by the greater LGBTQ community, or by the gay community more specifically. In effect, the only thing truly measured by Hornet’s results are the opinions of those Hornet users who chose to take the survey, not the broader Hornet user base, not gay American men, and most definitely not the broader American LGBTQ community. To infer that from the below data would be flawed.

    In other words, UNSCIENTIFIC.

Thanks for posting a "poll" that admits it's own hideously flawed "methodology".

    Good lookin' out.:salute:

I don't know very many gay men, but the ones I do know are not socialists and I would be very surprised if they voted left in this election.

Silencing 10,000 gay men by disregarding their opinions because of slightly flawed polling methodology is not very progressive.

    https://www.vox.com/2020/3/5/21166116/lgbtq-voter-turnout-super-tuesday-record

So LBGTQ voters have higher voter participation and skew liberal for obvious reasons.

Assuming that 80:20 ratio from 2016 and 2018 holds for 2020 that is not good news for the wannabe Fascist-in-Chief.

Like how people voted for Trump because they didn't like Hillary, even though they weren't "Trump supporters"?

In my limited personal experience, lesbians hate Trump with a passion for emotional reasons, while gay men will support him for rational reasons whether they like him personally or not.

I boat a lot and I've seen more than a few boats with only men aboard, flying their rainbow flags right alongside their American flags and their Trump flags. There are certainly some gay men supporting Trump. Good for them!

The hatred the left has towards men would not surprise me if these findings were true at all. Not all gay men are flamboyant soy boys as depicted by Hollywood. I live in a conservative area and have definitely met a couple guys that I was surprised to find were on the other side of the fence.

Not at all. I think that more than 10% of votes for Trump are really votes Against the opposition. I live in L.A and have many gay friends. Marriage equality has already been achieved and now excessive taxes and second amendment rights are an issue. Many are turning against the dems.

You know gays who support a president who thinks it should be ok to fire them for being gay?

Yes. We are past gay marriage and are already dealing with gay divorces. Some gay people want gun rights and want to keep more of the fruits of their labor. Jewish people are turning against the Dems as well. They will vote for the guy they dislike because he is the lesser of evils.

I just taught my former dem friends how to shoot since they recently bought their first gun. They hate Trump, but are voting for him anyway.

My daughter was a dem, voted for Hillary, and will now vote for Trump even though she "hates his guts".

Can’t think of any of my gay friends that could stomach the idea of voting for Trump. He’s on record as saying he’d appoint judges with the intent of overturning marriage equality. Trump isn’t good for any member of the LGBTQ community that wants to be treated with dignity and respect.
