If the police did nothing wrong why did the City pay her estate $12 million dollars and agree to specific police reforms in her family's wrongful death suit?

I'm fine with the rioting, as long as they do not attack private property and stick with government buildings. Otherwise, the rioters will need to realize that a private citizen has a right to defend their property.

This is exactly right. The media is also culpable for spreading disinformation before any of the facts were known and stirring up an already agitated crowd. Also there is something nobody wants to talk about and that is there is some segment of the black community that feels entitled to commit crimes without consequences. Time after time the families complain that a family member was killed during the commission of an armed robbery and there's always a biography, "he was a good boy, was going to graduate high school, played sports" and so on. So are we supposed to accept this mentality ,should we just allow someone to stick a gun in our face and rob us or even kill us. The mayors of Seattle and Portland were quite comfortable in allowing 100 days of uncontrolled crime for which there'll be little consequence. What happens when Trump gets elected? You know there is going to be an all out war and even if there's a swift response with overwhelming force, a lot of people are going to die and for what? I think we'll be locked down tighter than the quarantine.

The cops did not return fire. Breanna Taylor never fired.

Those cops should be charged with murder.

 

I don't know about the promise of police reforms but the $12 million was to settle what could be a lot more if the family wanted to hold out and this kind of suit is very common even when the deceased was at fault. Tort law is piracy.
