So she got a hold of the family records. So? Decided she 'deserved' something from it? There are many families that intentionally cut someone out of a will. Perhaps Old Man Trump didn't think she AK'ed enough. His perogative.

How does one define a 'protocol' for a new and improved virus? The experts weren't even sure. 'Pay attention?' Seriously?

The numbers do tell a story. That one-size-fits-all doesn't fit all. That each State needed to adjust for their particular circumstances, that people needed to adjust for their particular circumstances. But that doesn't fit some people's idea that people cannot think for themselves. When have I 'run away'? Your accusations really are quite the pip.

They did here. Not the fancy ones, and some were made locally at the Senior center, but yes, they did have them.

I have no idea where “here is” nor do I particularly care.

In NY and NJ they were almost unobtainable back then

Not all areas were the same. Yes, there was hoarding going on, and they were in shortage for a brief period, but that is what is wrong with blanket statements. They don't necessarily apply everywhere.

You still haven’t identified where these masks were so available in March and April.

They were Not available in New England where they were most needed

Trump doesn't care about the American people, he was trying to play down the virus

    what’s wrong with THAT picture?

Even hospitals in the ME had trouble getting enough

I had masks left over from last years flu season. There were plenty of masks available in January.

    Good for you.

You should have donated them to NY medical workers

I posted on this a few times already, but here...at my local hospital (rural town, Midwest, USA) the staff members only get new masks every THREE DAYS. I was hospitalized for ten days and learned this from one of my nurses. I have seen them in local stores but it did surprise me that a medical facility would allow the same mask for three consecutive (or non-consecutive) days. Conversely, one major player in medicine requires ALL patients to remove their own mask and use one provided by them.

Edited to add: I see all types for sale in various retail stores here so, it appears, we no longer have shortages.

Why I was first just using my motorcycle helmet in stores, and one lady at a store the other day said, "aren't you the guy that usually wears the helmet?" In March and April it was cooler, so the vents and visor could be closed in store, in Florida. I was even looking at the vacuum bag videos early on, and the possibility of a mod to create a functional one of these: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=walteriffic+helmet&qpvt=walteriffic+helmet&FORM=VDRE

Air (and virus) goes though the path a least resistance so one has to consider the skirt on such a mod.

There was more than enough information out there for anyone to make their own mask in minutes, better than cloth.

People aren't dead because they didn't have a free cloth mask, they are dead because cloth is porous and a sneeze just blasts right out of it and floats around as aerosols, and then a dummy with his free government approved cloth mask thinks it protects them.

Let's see, they want a lynching, even after they know it was not no-knock, even after they know the cops were shot at first...and you think a cloth mask would save them? We should have signs up around hoods all over America like at Lion Country Safari about entering a dangerous animal compound, keep your windows up, and don't feed the Biden/BLM animals:

10 months in it's safe to say the virus should have been played down.

The Democrats and Media played up the virus, even as Trump claims to be playing down the virus. He has always spoken with a forked tongue.

Plandemic is the most accurate description.

I've seen (and posted) videos that show that a sneeze does NOT "blast out" of even a cloth mask and certainly not out of a manufactured one..

Yes it can get through in limited form...and travels a fraction of the distance before dropping to the floor

I've seen the same videos, and it does blast out, simply physics, and it's all about volume, and a cloth mask doesn't have any real volume compared to one that is molded, and what MUST come out around the sides and top is probably the worst aerosols. If social distancing the big stuff is not the problem.

Social distance as if it does nothing for you, or your neighbor. If someone sneezes in the aisle at the store, and they have mask of your dreams, go the other way.

Obviously we have NOT seen the same videos because the ones I posted show an unimpeded sneeze traveling 9 feet...one with a cloth mask 3 feet...and one with a manufactured mask mere inches...including whatever leaks out the sides

The reason I'm 50/50 on whether masks are effective or not is from looking at the Texas spike. Three things happened all at once before the spike: Memorial Day bars opened, Memorial Day protests started and masks were not mandatory in the state. The spike started a couple of weeks into June. In early July, the governor closed the bars, made masks mandatory, and the number of protesters steadily dropped off after the first couple of weeks. The spike in cases dropped nearly as fast as it rose.

I don't know how large a role the mask mandate played into the sharp drop in cases, but I guess I'm in the "might help, can't hurt" crowd even though it is possible that the bandanas I wear may be like trying to keep mosquitoes out of the yard by putting up a chain link fence.

A bandana counts as a legal face covering, therefore it is "proper".

As has been noted... it is the least effective face covering... so of course it is the covering of choice for you
