We've now found two ways to get a Dem Party politician to declare a riot. The first is to have violent and radical leftists show up at his or her home -- usually a mansion -- to . . . um . . . redecorate in real time and the second is to have decent citizens show up to do what the perpetually 'stood down' police departments are not ALLOWED to do.
I actually agree with Kate Brown on this one. AntiFa WILL attack the Proud Boys and the Proud Boys WILL respond with violence. This has a great chance to go sideways in a hurry. There is a possibility of gunfights breaking out, that would be a disaster for everybody. I also don't like people from outside of a community driving to that community to protest. I would feel much better if it was a group of citizens from within Portland. Portland did not ask anybody from the outside to come in and save them. If their government is content to let terrorists riot for months at a time, that is their prerogative. The bottom line, no matter what happens today, I can't see any outcome that does not reduce Trump's chances of re-election. When your political enemy is destroying itself (in a spectacular fashion), you would be wise to allow them to do so.
I agree, but since they are an independent organization; they are going to do what they are going to do. If they start the violence then I will cheerfully condemn them . . . something that I have never caught a leftist on this system bothering to do in regards to violent BLM or ANTIFA. Although maybe I blinked and missed it . . . the one time it might ever have happened.
As usual there will probably be like 16 "proud boys" and about 1600 blm/antifa rioters and the rioters will riot and destroy things and blame the 16 guys standing around peacefully waving some flags and wearing MAGA hats.
The fact that Portland wasn't already in a state of emergency after months of rioting, looting, and burning shows that this is nothing more than partisan politics. The mayor and governor should have done more to stop this by now. They are both ineffectual.

This isn't the first time. Antifa and the Proud Boys fought in Berkeley, New York and in Portland in 2018, and that's just what I've found in a quick search. There are probably more incidents.
