Trump claimed that if the left gains power, they'll launch a crusade against law enforcement. Echoing his highly inaccurate campaign ads that suggest that Democratic nominee Joe Biden would defund 911 operations and have a "therapist" answer calls about crime, Trump falsely claimed that the left is focused on taking away firearms, funds and authority from police.

The ignorance of Trump inviting a group of Black and Latino Americans, who have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus, to an event at the White House at a time when he might still be contagious, was appalling to Dr. Jeremy Faust, an emergency physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
"The images we are seeing are absolutely extraordinary," Faust said on CNN's "Newsroom" as attendees on the South Lawn did very little social distancing, with many not wearing masks. "To literally draw (Black and Latino activists) into the White House, to a hot zone, is extraordinarily inept in terms of public policy and public health ... If you believe nuclear power is safe, you don't go and have a picnic at Chernobyl the next day to prove that point."

To invite a group of people while he is still recovering himself is one of the most irresponsible acts done by President Trump. it appears this is an act of desperation. The content of his talk is equally desperate claiming the police will be defunded etc.

 

I don't think Trump is hob nobbing in the crowd. Sounds more like average leftist hysteria and blowing things out of proportion for yet another idiotic ideology.

And when did it become divisive to call out ole Joe and Harris for their known support of defunding police, and their claims of getting rid of guns. If you aren't up to snuff on Joe and Harris you should get up to speed.

 

Recently, a poster here implied that Trump may be trying NOT to win the election. I thought it sounded unlikely since he's already taken steps to fight like tooth and nail should the numbers not work in his favor. However, I have to wonder when I read things like this.

Why would he do something that he knows may cause harm to others? It just doesn't make sense.

Leave it to CNN to twist facts. Biden has indeed called for defunding the police. He of course never uses the word "defund", instead he says "redirect". Additionally he has stated that if they don't "sign up" for certain reform programs and send in all data related to police misconduct to the DOJ then they will not get federal funds. IE: They will no longer be receiving the same funds as before, ie: defund. That he uses different words does not mean that the end result is not the same.

As for taking away firearms, yes, he wants to. On his own campaign site he wants to ban all "assault weapons and high capacity magazines". He also wants to hold companies that manufacture guns responsible for the criminal acts of other people. He also wants to put the same requirements to own machine guns onto "existing assault weapons". Those restrictions btw require registration and costs thousands of dollars to obtain for such permits. And he wants to institute many other laws that make it harder for individuals to own/buy guns. If you can't see how all these things are not designed to eventually end gun ownership for the American People then you are sticking your head in the sand.

 

Aerosals are the known way to contract the virus, so every time the President(especially knowing him) hollars, there's a risk.
