I saw a thread where the fans of the Democratic Party were boasting about the number of billionaires who donated them money.
So, we have large corporations that censor our speech, unelected individuals that are employed by a for-profit entity make decisions on what is true or not; and these corporations are showing a strong bias towards the Democrats.
Then there are notorious violent groups that inflict violence on their opponents and show strong support for the Dems.
So, the Democrats are turning into corporatists who want to control what information is available to you via loyalist Google and mass media. By putting every citizen into their version of the outside world (pretty much turning the country into the Matrix), they’d have complete and totalitarian control.
All of the symptoms above are beginning to hint at a serious disease - fascism.
So, does anyone else think Democrats are turning into fascists?

What are you using dictionary definitions now? Fascism means Trump supporters. Trying to nail down objective meanings to words is also fascism. Fascist.

I forgot to add a healthy dose of populism into that mix.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who made this observation. I hope the US will get over this. Would be such a shame if the country split or turned into a 3rd world country.

They don't censor your speech, so much as deny you access to their platform based on your speech. Its one of those 'buy your own microphone - if you want to say what you please' arguments. Under normal circumstances this line of argument would appeal to conservatives who usually don't like the idea of anyone telling Businesses what they should be doing with their property that they did the work to build. Conservatives would be telling the whiners to stop telling twitter or facebook how to handle their own business , and start their own and compete with them.

Split might not be avoidable at this point. Or, it might be the best case scenario.

The drift towards fascism has been a bipartisan effort all the way. We reached that point years ago. Our oligarchy took us to fascism decades ago. They certainly never talk about it on MSM, but we've been functionally fascist for decades. It's part of what Ike warned about in 1961 with the Military Industrial Complex.

The whole point of Liberal analysis into the Military Industrial Complex was to derive accountability. Is that ever going to happen? The world has a whole heap of dead whilst we wait...

Wait till Biden retires in 6 months and Kamala is president, Bernie is control of healthcare, AOC is in charge of climate policy, Warren is in charge of economic policy and Beto is in charge of gun control.

All things which Biden has already said he would do. We would be so screwed.

You must be using the new demtionary, the democratic revision of Funk & Wagnalls that defines all negative terms as and actions as Trump-related.

Aside from originally being related to the far right (which Trump and supporters certainly are not) all the characteristics that define fascism in the dictionary today fit the dems to a TEE.. Yes, the Dems are turning to fascism. Not pure, they use whatever tactic and value that serves them at the moment, so it would appear they have become Amoral, meaning they have no moral limits at all.

Billionaires donating to a party is not what makes it fascist. Governing to repay them for those donations would be. If Democrats start passing tax breaks for billionaires, or appointing judges and justices who will rule in favor of their corporations and against the interest of We The People, or legislating to give billionaires more influence and power over the elections, or discerning between companies that are "friends" and "foes" of the President ... (etc); then you could start asking if the Democratic Party has become as fascist as the Republican party is today. And if that were the case, my answer would be "yes". But not before that.

The brownshirts (BLM and Antifa), the cancel culture, the dehumanization and delegitimization of the opposition or any opposing views, the suppression of free speech, first on campuses and now in the entire society, the accusations of thought crimes and demands of forced confessions of guilt....

The dems are passing the Duck test on fascism with flying colors although in all fairness they've taken the "best" not just from fascism but also from Stalinism and Maoism.

So it's not fascist to limit free speech on college campus? It's not fascist tearing down political signs?

    No, you did not.
You display the behavior of average democrat by implying that R’s are fascist, but you cannot even get the definition straight.

Me too. I don't want to break up America. Though its preferable to civil war, and either of those is preferable to living under global authoritarian collectivism. I'll certainly keep trying to avoid all three...

Here is the "definition" I gave.

".... passing tax breaks for billionaires, or appointing judges and justices who will rule in favor of their corporations and against the interest of We The People, or legislating to give billionaires more influence and power over the elections, or discerning between companies that are "friends" and "foes" of the President ... (etc)"

You can agree, disagree, criticize it... whatever you want. But don't give me this crap that I didn't define it. Denying that "what you see" exists may be considered "pious" among Trump followers. But to everybody else it's bullshit.
