Reading a comment like this on a political message board, makes me ashamed to call myself an American.

Get rid of 4 million dollar a year school supervisors? Get rid of $100,000 a year dog catchers ?

False how? Unless spending is cut by an equal amount, tax cuts create budget deficits. You don't even need to be good at math to figure that.

Sorry, but the fail here is your reply.

I didn't think I needed to, but I tend to overestimate the mental acuity of the average rightie now and then. My bad.

Only if you didn't want to present a false dichotomy, which you did.
Go try it on some 4th graders. Maybe they'll bite

Do I take YOUR posts put of context like that? Quote the whole thing, please.

Any 4th grader could tell you that you can't cut your income without cutting your expenses.

He doesn't, because he's not the recipient of that "stuff".

These folks made their money in part because a system and a country paid for by tax dollars exist to facilitate that ability. There are no vacuums here whereby folks made all of their money entirely on their own. It's all built on the shoulders of what came before them.

That does not mean, for example, that a business owner who grows his business didn't build that business themselves. It means that the environment in which that business existed that allowed for that business to grow doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Here is why you might be opposed to it if you live in Illinois.

Some of those 3% might just be sitting around the pool sipping drinks with little umbrellas in them, hunkering down inside during the frigid Illinois winters doing nothing, just counting their money, but there are quite a few that got their 3% status by working their ass off and building a business that employs dozens or maybe hundreds or perhaps thousands of citizens. Lets just piss them off, so they start to think, man, it sure is nice in the winter down their in intelligent land called Texas, maybe I should stop shoveling my driveway and take my rich ass down there along with my company. Texas will roll out the welcome mat.

There is a sound reason to be concerned. Look at NY and NJ the rich are taking their ball and heading south.

As far as ballot measures, we have a thing here in Colorado called the TABOR amendment. Tax Payers Bill Of Rights. It keeps either party but really democrats from raising taxes without citizens imput. Every 4 years democrats float some insane ballot measure to chip away at Tabor. They want unfettered ability to raise taxes whether we like it or not. Tabor is the best law ever passed, ever. About 12 years ago they snuck something in called amendment C I believe it was, very misunderstood wording, the kind that when you read it, you were not sure if a Yes vote was for or against it. That was done on purpose, even the ads were confusing. It was supposed to be a temporary measure, but they snuck in wording that allowed the legislature extend it indefinitely. Well what it did was eliminated the state from being forced to send us refunds if the state had a surplus, I used to get a check between $1200 to $1600 every year, that grinded to a halt. Thank you democrat party.

Because of that, we now have a section when we get our vote pamphlet that will spell out exactly what a Yes or No vote means. thank you Republicans.
