As if we really need another reason to get rid of the Electoral college, Joe Biden has just received the most votes ever cast for a presidential candidate and despite that it decided absolutely nothing. If we were a real democracy the election would already be decided and over. I fail to see, in todays world of instant communications, what exactly the college accomplishes.

66.9% of eligible voters cast their ballots in this election, the prior record was 2016's 60%.

You mean the rich person ripping off the poor person and refusing to pay any tax whilst outsourcing manufacturing overseas?

Joe's lead in the national popular vote is now around 3.5-MILLION and growing.

Weak republicans DESPERATELY need the failed relic known as the electoral college to compete.

    Sad...

That truly is a spot-on description of the Republican Party these days.

No need. Implement the Wyoming Rule and re-balance the House and the EC to line up with the Founders' intentions.

    Its keeping the Union together.

Whether thats a good thing or a bad thing is certainly up for debate. What isn't debateable is that the EC was a prerequisite condition for many states to join the Union (wiki- 'The Great Compromise' for more). Abolish it and set the stage for the dissolution if these United States.

...it may be time for just that.

No, because they aren't paying taxes...

I mean the person giving you a job trying not to be pushed overseas to survive because of overburdened regulations and taxes.

I also mean the middle class blue collars who pay taxes so that Obama+biden could wage wars and give free healthcare to everyone but the people paying for it.

Apparently Biden supports taking my income to pay for healthcare for undocumented immigrants even though I still have to pay for my healthcare.

The only reason you still have that healthcare bill is because you dont support single payer..With single payer, everything else would be the same, except you would just have more money in your pocket, as an employee or a business owner.

Incorrect. He has stated, if a public plan is implemented that illegals can purchase said plan.

The EC makes winning by voter fraud more difficult. This is why dems are against it.

We have a higher minimum wage than you, more job availability, more holidays and leave AND free healthcare. Yes money can be tight for some - it is in every country BUT a standard of living generally is good AND with free healthcare businesses especially small businesses are unburdened by that “hidden tax”

Yep! The idea of the employer paying insurance means that it becomes a hidden tax as well as an extra burden on the employer

FYI. There is a reason why California is not ruling this country, the Electoral college.

It will be to the fiscal detriment of red states (if that's important)

Personally I don't mind disproportionate representation for country folk since they supply a lot of our food ;)
