Joe Manchin went on national TV last night and directly promised that he would never vote for court packing and Medicare for all. In effect, he would side with and vote with the Republicans on these issues. West Virginia must have been on fire lighting up Manchin's phone lines. Kind of takes the air out of Schumer's bragging in the streets yesterday.
Joe Manchin would've made for a great VP or a great President. He's one of the few in Congress who have demonstrated the ability to lead from both behind and ahead.
