I live in a conservative part of California and no one here pays any attention to Newsome not even the sheriff or the police. I'll do what I want. Because, well, you know Life, Liberty, and peruse happiness. That's what I've always been told to do, so I'm doing as I'm told.

 

I'm not sure why "leaders," feel the need to get involved in people's lives.

We should be vigilant in trying to reduce viral load, true.
We should be careful during the holidays and just take some extra steps, true.
Top notch virus experts should offer suggestions on how to accomplish this, true.
Government should set policy as to how people can celebrate a holiday. LOL, no.

 

I live in Wisconsin and a slew of people I know got the Covid in the past few weeks. A coworkers grandma died of it (she was 93). The symptoms ranged from really bad flu to slight cold. I looked up the fatality rate for my cohort and compared it to the flu fatality rate for my cohort, I found that I am exactly 2.8 times more likely to die of the Covid than I am the flu. I also noticed that when you start getting into the baby boomer range, the covid becomes much more lethal than the flu.

I mostly stay at home and socially distance. With two older teens who have social lives, it seems like a lost cause on my part. I am convinced that one of them is going to give it to me at some point. Not sure how to avoid getting it from them.

 

Really, the important thing isn't to try and not get it. The important part is ensuring you don't get a huge viral load, which is what sends people to the hospital, life long conditions, or death.

Our 22 year old has been home since March. (He used to be gone a lot.) He's still socializing, be he's being as careful as he can. We just don't get too close to him; we have fans on everywhere, and I regularly Clorox down the areas we have in common.

My BFF lost a cousin and an aunt, so far. Her father and step-mother currently have it. All in central and rural Indiana.

I agree with you regarding Biden, but I'm also afraid he's so far gone he's just a puppet, and I have zero faith in his puppet masters.

The federal government has been destroying our 4th amendment right for years, and years, and years. FISA courts, spying on Americans, no knock warrants, civil forfeiture; the list goes on and on and on.

How about we worry about the actual violations of our freedom, and not worry about wearing a piece of cloth for 15 minutes at Walmart, mkay?

 

How tragic for families that lose loved ones because they wanted a big gathering. The word Thanksgiving will never be uttered by them again.
