I've been sexually harassed, and I've been in on jokes that only make it seem so. I don't appreciate being told I don't respect women because I was being playful, silly and flirty, while making light of something that is a serious issue, but not as serious as some make it.

 

If true, why do you think she felt compelled to include it in her book? I don't know her so I'm not trying to speak for her but the inclusion seems to point to her NOT thinking it was just friendly banter between two people that "have developed an excellent working relationship and come to respect each other".

There are plenty of interviews Sarah has done since she left the White House, if you are interested. She speaks very highly and fondly of Trump.

Sexual harassment is not dependent on whether the targeted person is offended or not. There could have been another female present, who was not target of the "joke", and she could have been offended. Therefore, such sexist "jokes" have no place in the professional work environment. In fact, I would be offended, if someone at my workplace would make such a "joke" and I probably would report it.

Agreed. It's like the comments some here have made about disbelieving a woman who said that she was sexually assaulted while in police custody. I couldn't believe the comments basically saying she was not attractive enough to want to assault in that manner. It's unbelievable to me that any adult still thinks that sexual harassment and/or sexual assault have anything to do with someone's physically appearance rather than an abuse of power.

I cannot speak to anyone else's motives for why they do things. However, it doesn't follow that someone would include such information while simultaneously praising a person. It's possible as it seems in this case. It just seems double-sided.

Further, I believe, by definition something is NOT harassment if the recipient is not harmed by it as any harm can only be qualified and quantified by the person experiencing it.
