It also doesn't help that liberals are pushing for the recruitment of more homosexuals.

We killed a third of a generation in the womb and you seriously believe that didn't impact the population? You've got to be kidding...

No, since abortion has always been and will always be( it was NOT invented in 1973) it doesn't factor into this.

Of course in a way it may since those abortions may have saved some women from dropping into poverty and losing educational and financial opportunities..

Yes it's always been it used to be far less common. People allways have and always will modify the choices they make based on circumstances. Bill Clinton's oxymoronic statement that he wanted abortions to be safe, legal, and rare was oxymoronic because as long as abortions are safe and legal they will never be rare.

I don't care about Clinton's opinion on abortion, it has NOTHING to do with the statement of mine you quoted.

Abortions should be safe, legal and occur anytime a woman wants one.

Women are not obligated to keep up the population.

And it does save some women from dropping into poverty and losing educational and financial opportunities.....which helps the economy.

If it stopped the influx of illegal immigrants then it was a win in my book!

Given that we have no real idea what the levels were, it's almost all guess work and not surprising since millennials claim to be getting laid at significantly lower rates than their parents. Hard to have babies without sex.

This analysis doesn't take into account the increase in the birth rate because lockdowns have kept millions home. I personally have eight new grandchildren on the way and a great grandchild. Anecdotal?

All true, but so what? I'm not being cavalier, I'm asking for predictions and (if warranted) solutions.

    Lower growth isn't necessarily bad.

Lower growth is bad if you are a major corporation hiring thousands of employees. Business is built on growth not shrinkage.

Spin? What does my comment have to do with Biden? My comment pertains to the consequences of low growth, irrespective of who is President.

If the trends we are in continue it will have a far greater effect on the future beyond 4 years than just the Biden term in office.

With the National Debt fast approaching $28 TRILLION, we need to boost our GDP not let it decrease if we are to ever pay down any of the debt.

Not with the current trend of automation. Every corporation is trying to reduce labor not grow it. Fail

You just want to import more of the 3rd world so you can have easier times winning elections. If you cared about birthrates you would want policies that improve the family structure instead of single parent homes

Depopulating is what all countries should be doing. I don't want to have to compete for resources on a planet that is overpopulated. Western countries are doing what they should be. Problem is third world countries are not and they are just dumping their irresponsible breeding habits on rich western countries and destroying their cultures which large corporations seem to profit from.

Over population is not a problem in the USA we have the same land madss as China with less than 25% of their population and they produce far more food than we do.

Then move there. All the diversity you crave, plenty of censorship, pure autocracy run by experts, no white supremacists.... heaven on earth.

Nothing contributes more to carbon emissions than moving people from low carbon 3rd world nations and getting them on the high carbon Western diet. Can you pick a narrative that is not self contradictory? Are you worried about a global warming catastrophe or not? If you want western population growth, by definition you cannot be worried about global warming. (I am not worried about global warming but I am worried about immigrants who vote Democrats and consume more tax resources than they generate who therefor make the deficit PROBLEM MUCH WORSE).

If you believe the pyramid scheme that constant population growth is sustainable, I can't help you. All you are doing is setting up for a cataclysmic crash further down the line. At some point the population is going to decrease.... I would rather that the decrease be voluntary and gradual rather than it forced upon us by nature in the form of a massive death event and civilizational ruin.

All it takes for a billion people to starve to death is a Carrington event like we had in the 19th century (we now are due for one). The chances of one hitting in the next century are close to 100%.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrington_Event#:~:text=The Carrington Event was a,10 (1855–1867).

China does not produce far more food than us, they produce about the same. We are the world's biggest exporter of food. China is eating most of its own food.

Yeah, right. Just a coincidence that as Lame Duck Joe is taking over we start getting fed all these stories about how slow growth is baked into the cake.

We were fed the same crap with Obama - New Normal, Those Jobs aren't ever coming back, and Does Trump think he has a magic wand?

2024 we'll get a real President elected and by 2025 we will be on our way back to the solid growth that the American Worker is known for.
