These two choices haven't been fact checked but holds the only answer.

  1. The UK was mad refusing EU's offer because they give it to third party countries anyway.

We live in the hope that after the pandemic, we can tour and see live shows again, but this week, the UK politely rejected EU's offer of visa free travel for musicians in the bloc for UK musicians.
I guess they wanted visa free for their musicians in the UK in return, or something.

I want to know, do you think the UK are mad or are the EU and Musicians still thinking like Remainers?
The answer can only be found, in how American or Japanese or other third party musicians get treated when touring in the EU; Do they get to have this visa free movement in the EU or do they have to import/export equipment and pay dues in the country they play their shows in - like the Brits now have to do? / and, what the EU was asking UK of in return that it didn't ask the United States or Japan? - Meaning, if they do get to but Brits don't, why can't EU musicians go visa free in the US or Japan but were expected to go visa free in the UK for UK to get what other third party nationals already get in the EU?
(I should know, I'm a Musician who grew up under the EU, and I know EU musicians can't tour around the US Visa free, if US can tour around the EU visa free, why can't UK when EU musicians can't tour the UK visa free?

Simply put, what do other third party nationals have to do when they want to tour around the EU?

Why should the UK have to allow EU nationals touring visa free in return for being able to tour around the bloc but America doesn't? (If America doesn't).
If Americans don't get this and already have to face the same things the Brits will now face, then it's just a bunch of Remainers moaning again.

110 UK artists sign an open letter to UK government because they felt failed by the government.

So in a quest for an answer, the only thing I could find so far is
    https://livemusicbusiness.com/artist-resources/advice-for-us-and-canadian-bands-touring-in-europe/
    dated 2011 (my best guess).
This part of that page eludes to what's facing UK musicians in the bloc since Brexit came into effect.

So I don't see a problem with the UK turning down EU's offer of freedom of movement for touring bands because I have no doubt they asked UK to return the favour for EU musicians touring the UK.

Don't they understand we're now out of the EU, so if they treat us different to other third country nationals or ask of us what they won't ask other countries, then that's fine if we politely refuse their offer.

If you need a visa to tour the US, then you need a visa to tour the UK, we don't expect to be treated like we're in the EU, so if we need to comply to the same rules other non EU musicians have to when touring EU countries, that's fair.

As always the EU creates a problem by being unreasonable then cries and tries to blame the innocent party for the mess the EU created.

May I kindly remember you that not the EU left the UK but the UK left the EU instead. The problem you describe is not a EU-problem, but an UK-problem.
