But is she doing it to actually help or to use it as a tool to blast people? To even think she has good intentions after what she’s done in her brief tenure, you’re ****ing crazy. Same woman who claimed people in the Senate wanted to kill her. Called Trump a white supremacist and everyone who supported him, KKK members. Just saying. She lost any credibility at appearing sincere.

I've never claimed that liberals never do it. Where is your evidence it is happening here, with these specific donations? Ever time I ask you, you run away. I predict that will happen again.

    Agreed.

Green New Deal is stupidity in motion but what she's doing for Texas is a welcome break from her usual uselessness.

If it were an honest question, you'd have made an honest attempt to check it out. Food. Water. Heat. Diapers. This ain't rocket surgery. Maybe try talking to someone on the ground there. Like me.

Give it time. The paperwork will be filed and then we'll see. I'm telling you what will happen, not what has happened.

Thank you for admitting that you can't back up your claim with any kind of evidence. Your baseless, factless, evidence-less, fake "prophecy" has been given all of the credit it is due, which is none.

I'd love to see the documentation on this, got any? I didn't think so......btw, how much has Cancun Cruz raised to help his fellow Texans?

In the meantime, this link explains where the AOC funds raised are going:

Most people do have power restored, so heat shouldn't be an issue. Food could've been saved had it been put outside. Diapers? Didn't realize there was a shortage, but if you need relief supplies, I hope you get them.

I've never in my life needed relief supplies after being without power for 2-3 days and it's happened many times. I do hope many lessons are learned from this from the state's power to the citizens.

Most. Tens of thousands still don't. And food shortages still exist. As do diaper shortages. And definitely water shortages. Many of us have gone longer than 2 days without energy/heat, and many more will continue to go days without water. This is the reality. Reality is more important than anything else.

We have been without power in Iowa for over a week in 2007 in February due to a ice storm. I don't remember any politician helping us out.

This is just a publicity stunt and a big warm up is under way across the United States so nobody should be freezing next week.

She did a nice thing but I don't trust her intentions were good.

That money may feed people but that's about it. It's sad we have disasters all the time in America and politicians only seem to care if it's very political and they can get publicity.

Ps. Notice how everyone seems to be ignoring your question?

Like I said, lessons are being learned. Never let yourself be without stored water and if you think you will be without, fill tubs, pitchers, containers, etc. As a society, many don't prepare for anything and now find themselves in situations that could've been easily avoided.

Pardon me if I doubt the sincerity of her efforts.

Power is back to normal, water systems back online and flushing, food being emergency trucked back into the stores. I don't know that Texas needs AOC riding in to save the day or that Cruz's staying, who has no role in emergency management in the state and was not in hiding, would have made any difference.

Many of us did that, and more, and still ended up short. Imaginary scenarios about how awesome you would have been are useless compared to what AOC has actually done for people here, where people some people are dying. Turns out actually helping is better than playing Captain Hindsight and talking about how amazing you'd be in a similar (imaginary) situation.

Glad she's doing a nice thing. Good for her. I give her benefit of the doubt.

Still, she's as responsible as anyone for the lack of energy that caused this, the wind mills. I would prefer she say "I'm wrong, the green new deal isn't going to work."

Power is back to normal for most, but not for tens of thousands still. Water is . . . spotty, at best. She's helped, far more than Cruz has. No amount of stamping your feet and crying about how you don't want to give her credit because she's one of dem durn libruhls will change that.

Wind mills did not cause this. Do your homework before copy/pasting what you've been told by lying idiots.

I went almost 2 weeks without power due to a derecho in Iowa this year. Trump came out but the news mostly ignored it and so did most politicians. I lost all of my food and had damage to my house. I had water pouring into my house and a tree branch on the power lines connected to my house. The insurance Company, State Farm only wanted to pay for some of the cost. Most of central Iowa was like this after 140 MPH winds tour through the state.

So I'm sorry that people in Texas went 2 days without power but that's nothing compared to what others have gone through. In 2007 I went without power for a week from an ice storm and nobody came to help. After those historic floods years ago a entire town in Iowa was flooded for over a month with little help from anyone.

I have seen far worse disasters in America get far less news attention, money and help.

I just don't care that AOC wants to do a publicity stunt. Screw her FAKE intentions.

You can quote me on that. AOC is nothing more than a FAKE.

    Renewables are 100% to blame.

Actually, renewables aren't. Federal regulations which mandated shutting down 6 coal generating stations was. But I digress.

What exactly could Cruz do from Texas that he couldn't do from Mexico. Nobody has been able to answer that as of yet.

You wouldn't be out if you did that. Simple.
And it's not imaginary, I've been without power and basic supplies many times for much much longer than that. I'm not going to sugar coat it, it's awful and I don't want to ever do it again, but I know I will so I remain prepared the best I can. But there's little doubt that the dems are playing this up as much as possible just to blame it 100% on republicans. Calling it a humanitarian crisis, death and destruction, etc is taking things a bit too far for describing a few days of no power due to a winter storm.

It's not fun, in fact, it sucks, but no reason anyone should have died or be without food and water a few days into this.

It isn't like they ran out of water, they ran out of fuel or at least accessible fuel.

What they need is energy. Power. Fuel.

No amount of money is going to unfreeze those pipes.

Water is actually the abundance of what they do have with all of the broken pipes i the homes. Water is running out of control.

I am all about helping out, and kudos to those who donated and those who put forth the effort. However; in many ways it's symbolic. Money doesn't recover this issue in any fashion.

You want to ignore AOC and ActBlue's history with money you go right ahead. But don't, please, for one moment act like this has anything to do with 'proof'.

It doesn't have anything to do with proof . . . seeing as you've refused to discuss any

You should demand that your government keep the water supply at high pressure so the water runs even in a power outage.
