In an Act that NO ONE VOTED FOR, Biden Withdraws Trump’s US Sanctions on Iran

When did it work before? We have them where we want them why is Biden letting up?

 

When did sanctions ever work either?

 

We had Iran where we wanted them under the nuclear deal that Trump broke.

Sanctions are economic terrorism and an act of war. They only hurt the people warmongers pretend to care about.

 

Sounds like Gateway Pundit indulging itself in its trademark proclivities for lying, peddling discredited right wing memes as fact, and whataboutism in a very disingenuous way.

One, the money that Obama “gave” (back) to Iran was their money. to begin with.

Second, the Agreed Framework was not a treaty and did not need to be approved by Congress.

Third, Trump used that fact to stick his finger in the eyes of much of the world by repudiating it.

The moment that happened, Iran was under no commitment whatsoever to refrain from restarting its nuclear program, which it, in time, did.

This outcome was anticipated by the entire planet, except for teh lonely little isolated corner that is occupied by Americans who though a guy named Rush was a source of news, and John Bolton.

Everyone else saw Trump’s boneheaded move as a virtual guarantee that Iran would become a nuclear power. Tehran cannot trust the United States. Trump proved that.

 

Your credibility isn’t improving.

You start with Gateway Pundit, a source so openly biased and completely unafraid to lie to its audience in any why that generates clicks, that no on other than Trumpsters on MeWe take it seriously.

Then you follow up with this National Review piece that actually works hard to hide the fact that the money in question is Iranian money that has been frozen in US banks since 1979, and twist it around to pretend that Tehran had no claim on. that money (without providing any evidence to support that suggestion).

But the serious, almost psychotic need of Trump’s waning disciples to cling to the whataboutism regarding Clinton and Obama is really pathetic now.

That meme was tired two years ago.

 

Giving Iran back their money knowing they would spend some on terrorism is like giving a murder back his gun knowing he's going to kill more with it.

Probably both. The US in particular have been indoctrinated to fear and hate a bogey man whether it's red Chines (1950's), those evil commies (1960's, 1970's, 1980's), those Muslims (1990's, 00's. 10's) or those Chinese & Muslims (20's) and godzilla.

Anyway, you mean a bit like the general population feared Saddam Hussein. I can think of many better strategies than destroying your enemy or making them fear you. Perhaps, you know, actually giving them reasons to like you?

 

The progressive left wants "everything Trump" reversed. It is an open question as to who is doing what here. Biden was a left of center democrat. Now he is flooding the country with far left Executive Orders.
The press has no real access, leaks are few, information is scarce. The press reports don't match up well whit what is happening It's a black hole over there.

Give vs released: Obama released embargoed money belonging to Iran. Iran is spreading it around in the form of guns and missiles killing everyone they don't like, especially US troops and our allies.

Yeah, that sort of went out the window when the nuclear club included more than two members.

 

The United States does not recognize the Iranian leadership as it's government nor do we have diplomatic relations with them after they took our embassy hostage and held our diplomats as prisoners. We had no obligation to turn that money over to that despotic leadership.
