It doesn't look like it's ever going to end. How many things can the left see as offensive and then either cancel or describe them as being negative?

This is the Muppets, how in the world can they be offensive? Out of curiosity, do they still show re-runs of I Dream Of Jeannie, F Troop, The Jeffersons, All In The Family, Soap, etc, or have they been cancelled?

The black-face Muppets were the problem.

Better cancel theatre, since back in the day the female roles were played by males in 'girlface'.

Oh, but that's right. Girlface is acceptable because hipsters say so.

Internal consistency is an undiscovered country on Planet Prog.

Are we talking about the old show? Because just about anything created in the 20th century has some offensive stuff in it.

They branded the Amos and Andy show as racist years ago. I liked the show used to crack up at it with it's all black cast of characters who were very funny. They have deprived all the black actors who were in it from years of royalties they could have collected by banning the show.None of the actors were ever in any other shows or programs.

Snowflakes need to be shielded from being triggered. And Disney is a corporation of cowards, ruled by scum sucking lawyers and cancel culture.

I find this extremely funny given that the right wing has been complaining about children's shows and the entertainment industry, for decades. In particular the whole teletubby scandal cracked me up!

Typically, the shows get in trouble with churchies and righties for being inclusive - given representation to gay people, for example. Now righties object to not offending people. So the position of the rw is to be discriminatory and offensive.

I still maintain that whoever came up with the teletubbies was doing LSD. LOL!

It must be hell being a left winger and being full of hate, and being offended all the time.

BTW if you are old enough, being offended and 78 cents will get you a senior coffee at McDonalds.

Since I don't watch Disney or the Muppets, I think I will survive this injustice rather unscathed. Besides, we all know it is really because Sam the Eagle is blue and they don't want democrats to be associated with anything patriotic.

It really is bizarre what people get upset about, though I guess if you treat the Daily Heil as a news source rather than a propaganda rag standards aren't your thing. Here are a few things the permaoutraged didn't get told:

*The warning applies to a whole 18 of the 118 episodes available in the US. It was decided to put a warning rather than cut out the content. Funny how the Daily Heil ommitted to mention that and left the distinct impression the warning was wider than that.
*A number of episodes have had segments cut. Is it because evilgodlesslibrulz want to censor the Muppets? Nope. It is because the music rights to some numbers could not be secured. Yep, the Muppet Show has had to cut out musical numbers because the companies who own the rights have forced them to. One of the numbers cut is the Sesame Street theme song.
*Two episodes are missing (In the US). One appears to be due to music rights once again. The other seems to be because the guest star was, decades later, convicted & jailed for possessing kiddie porn.

So, my recommendation for right wingers who watch the 18 episodes with the warning is to spend the first 10 seconds or so with your eyes closed, hands over your ears and yelling 'MAGA' at the top of your lungs. If that doesn't work hide in your safe space and get a grown up to tell you when its safe to come out. I know how hard it must be for you snowflakes to sit through a short warning on TV. Poor dears

It is both funny and entirely predictable how the outrage machine doesn't see fit to mention episodes cut or deleted because people want to make a profit on music rights, but jumps into high gear as a result of a short warnng before 18 intact episodes (out of 118). So apparently 'erasing history' is OK when it is done for profit. In fact, its so normal it doesn't warrant any comment. Conservative values strike again.

You mean the snowfakes crying and moaning over a couple of brief warning messages?

Yes yes yes.if you point out cancel culture you’e the problem. Just shut up and take it. Just a warning. It’s isolated. This isn’t happening everywhere. It’s nothing. Shshshshshs.

You’re so clever and smart. I’ve never heard that comment before. We heard it 8 years ago. Cancel culture doesn’t exist. Be quiet. Don’t say anything.

The disclaimer is just as comical as the “outrage” over the disclaimer. I can’t imagine spending my energy being upset over things like this. What’s the word... snowflake???

If this was an isolated disclaimer you might have a point. But it’s not. Just another example of 1000s. But don’t say anything. It’s nothing.

I never said "cancel culture" doesn't exist. Nobody is being "cancelled" here though. I was just pointing out that the people moaning about simple warning messages are no less "snowflakes" than anyone who moaned about the elements of the shows that led to the warnings in the first place.

We get warnings and restrictions about sex, violence, nudity and bad language in media without any issue. Indeed, some people call for more restrictions on those grounds, especially in children's and family entertainment, and it wouldn't surprise me if there was cross over between those people and the ones complaining about this warning. I don't see any of that as a major issue though.

If you're bothered by "cancel culture" (at least, when it's people you agree with being "cancelled") why not just focus on that?

Its "Snowflakism" that makes these lame warnings needed in the first place

Nobody really reads the the disclaimer. It’s more about redefining what we’re “supposed” to be offended by. And the only reason they’re doing it is because a tiny group of people makes a huge fuss and we’re all made to adapt to those particular snowflakes.

How many people actually are offended by the Redskins name? A handful. But the name is changed. How many people are offended by a George Washington statue or a scene in a cartoon? Very few. But culture is being changed by the few. It’s wrong. Those people have no authority to tell the rest of us how to think. But they are. They are telling corporations how to think through threats and the MSM empowers them.

    Ok, I like that term.

    Well, done Mr. Darth!!!

But really, does anyone here read more than the title to these things?

A limited number of episodes - does not mean that the muppets are being cancelled.

Deep breath. DISCERNMENT. DiScErNmEnT! Deep breath....

I have to assume that the individuals who are just soooooo upset about this mega bigly event are healthy, well, rich as sin and have a lot of time on their hands, because a whole helluva lot is going on in the world and opining over a faux scandal concerning the muppets is, I believe, not one of those things....

The girly-boys in Thailand want to get back to you on that one. They may go off half-cocked on this subject, but its super hard to say. Is indeed a very stiff issue.

I always kind of get a jolt inside when I see "in the 20th century" as if it was a long, long time ago and then I realize that yes, it's already been more than 20 years....

I think that black faces are wonderful.
    Also white faces.
    Also yellow faces
    Also red faces.
    Also brown faces.

Now, those weird Centaurian faces, there we need to have a serious discussion.
