If the lefties in Europe and the US would have gotten on board with a travel and border closure, millions would have been saved. The deadly strain of the virus has been traced back to Europe, and its spread is a direct result of the lefties playing the same games with their boarder and flights.

Stop insinuating that other people are incorrect because you're too ignorant to search out the information that was widely reported around the world at the time. Not only did China take all the PPE, but Obama didn't replace the PPE in US storage despite exhausting virtually all the equipment during the Swine Flu, and shirking his responsibility to replace it. Had Obama shut the border to reduce the need for PPE, and then replaced the small amounts that would have been needed, more people would be alive today. Good thing Trump has solved the issue by contracting private companies to make PPE in case there's ever a shortage.

I live in Oregon and Oregon has some rather stringent personal protection equipment labor laws. As such, large quantities of disposables were stored in various locations around the state. Shortly after the first infection in the state, the governor ordered mandatory masks in public. There were plenty of masks to go around - either the N95 masks or the surgical ones. They were even giving them away. In addition, Oregon, being one of those states who actually prepared for things like pandemics, even had an overabundance of ventilators, some of which they gave to other states.

I also get the feeling that you criticisms of Obama have more to do with what you heard or read from right-wing sources than what Obama actually did or did not do. Especially with your laughable praise of the worse president that we have ever had.

The problem was caused by the federal government letting every state and territory fend for themselves as well as a refusal to enact the DPA. Of course Trump's little trade war and the fact that his administration didn't add a single bit of PPE to the national stockpile in his first 3 years was a factor as well.

There was like a couple hundred of one item, a thousand of another, and few dozen of something else. I can vouch for your article as OHSU is one of the major consortium aligned with our institution and they were in desperate need of PPE and asking the consortium for donations to which we donated about 3% of our stockpile. But the left won't let facts get in the way of reality.

As for Trump, he sat on his hands for months in the beginning of the pandemic. States competed against states for medical goods while his son in law declared that the national stockpile wasn't for states. What a clown show. When an emergency hit, Trump froze like a deer in headlights.

 

It's Obama's responsibility in 2016 to resupply so its availble for the next time the country needs. That's how it's always been done. That's how we did on the ambulance. That's how the hospitals did it. Otherwise, the next person that has the next shift won't know what's missing. Cause the inventory checklist is always going to show that there are supplies available, but unless it's restocked by the last guy, your not going to know unless you go down to storage facility.
