There's a real simple solution: Either re-write or abolish De Jure citizenship. We Nationalists are on the right side of this situation. The 1965 act was an abomination that brought about the current situation. It was predicted by detractors at the time, and it brought about the results that were feared.

And she doesn't it word it very well, but she does have a point. Racism seems to be thrown around a little too much. The common danger of that is that it delutes the message. AOC is very smart, but that doesn't make her always correct, especially in the way she explains things sometimes.
The use of the phrase she talks about IS sometimes used in a negative racial way. Just not always, so by stating it the way she does it leaves room for much criticism. I find myself thinking about things after listening to her talk. Again, I don't always agree with her, but I think it's useful to have someone saying some of these things to inspire thoughts about the subject.

One of the great things about this country is that we have the freedom of thought, or not to think. It's perfectly within your rights to be closed minded, but it definitely leads to being narrow minded. We are all biased in some way, shape or form.

Trump has used family separation as a weapon of deterrence to dissuade migrants from coming to the US.

 

Right wing militias are literally a figment of the imagination(both of theirs, as well as the Left.). I am legitimately concerned that our security apparatus could miss the next big threat to America because we're focused on "white supremacists".

It's as if we don't think for example the Chinese and Russians(and there are others) aren't plotting against America.

 

I love a civil discussion as it's way more productive in creating a solution. AOC's comment is bombastic and her understanding of what a surge is really points out her bias as a surge in it's common sense is a rise suddenly to an excessive or abnormal level. Saying that the increased levels of migrants to the boarder ISN'T a surge is not part of reality. And then to call it due to Imperialistic and white supremacist is just down right moronic.

They are leaving their sh*t hole countries because we gave their countries BILLIONS of dollars to modernize their economies, only for their corrupt leaders to keep it all.

The best solution would be for the democrats to just own up that they should have kept Trumps policies in place for at least the first 90 days to get any new policy in place and prepared. Arbitrarily ending Trump policies without anything in place has ABSOLUTELY created this crisis and owning it and working with all parties is the only solution versus trying to bury the story!
