Thus, the ONLY meaningful measure here IS per capita.

Did you hear about the mass shooting in Kenosha last night? Some black gang banger went to a white suburban neighborhood and massacred some white people at a bar. The point — what was being discussed — is that the average mass shooter is a white male. Typical means representative, it has nothing to do with per capita.
