Considering that the people who make ONLY FMW are less than 2% of the workforce, and the demographics are normally under the 25 year old, so 98% of the workforce already makes more than FMW.

Wages are not based on political affiliation, and trying to claim that any one political party has intentionally restricted growth is disingenuous. Wage growth before the pandemic was on the upswing because there was high demand for workers, hence the record low unemployment numbers.

Artificially creating a base that will actually cause MORE people to only making FMW, increases the poverty pool as prices rise to adjust for the increased costs of labor, which are not restricted to just direct wages. The other costs such as employer paid taxes and worker's comp insurance rise accordingly.

Then no big deal, lets raise the min wage then... right?

Republicans have been and continue to be against raising the min wage... why?

So, you don't know how to extrapolate the effects of raising the minimum wage from 7.25 to 15.00? Here, I'll give you a lead in: what happens to those who earn more than 7.25 but less than 15.00 per hour?

What are the effects on employment and cost of goods? What is the upward effect on skilled labor? Unskilled labor? Is there any additional production, or is it an inflationary adjustment? Until you can answer those questions honestly to yourself, you will continue to ask the same questions.

Many people understand what increasing wages without increasing production does to employment, COGs and profits, inflation and the sum effect. Some don't. And it's not by political position, and it never will be.

The Fed pours in billions of unsecured money. Naturally, everything will rise in price.
In this case, the following happens - the FRS prints a certain amount of money, the government puts this money into circulation in different ways (through different forms of benefits, subsidies ... by raising the salaries of officials ...and other things like that) - people spend this money, and money, having gone through different forms of flow, accumulates in their hands oligarchs. That is, prices went up and made the poor even poorer, while the rich received additional profits and became even richer.
All this has long been described by Marx and Lenin.
And if you read "Imperialism as the Highest Stage of Capitalism" by Lenin, then you will know what will happen next with economics and politics.

Now? Been in the business for 30 plus years, I've know the effects of wages longer than most.

But you still aren't acknowledging the other effects, which if you did, you would understand that raising FMW will still leave those people at the bottom of the wage ladder, still in poverty, as prices rise because of the increase in wages.

And that's why people who think raising FMW is such a good thing, don't have a clue what they are actually supporting.

Because it only hurts poor people. A minimum wage kills wage competition for the poorest without skills. Businesses will stick to more qualified people to do menial jobs or as has already happened, reduce staff so the business can be competitive.

    1. Take their wage and divide it by $7.25.
    2. Take the answer to part 1 and multiply by $15.
    3. The answer to part 2 is what happens.

Your answer is quite literal, but does nothing to explain the impact.

There is always room everywhere for unskilled labor. Somebody is always there to vacuum the office, give water to the plants in the office, clean the toilet, be the cashier etc. It's hard to wonder why on earth a company would reduce that kind of staff.

Like... here is your hotelroom sir. Sorry about the bathroom in there, we reduced the staff. I hope you understand.

Interesting. He doesn't want to pay a higher wage, yet he can't get anyone to work for him at that wage? I guess you have to decide whether or not to stay in business and choose to either pay more or shut down.

Businesses are hiring like crazy around here. It's kind of crazy. McDonalds is offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

So when their CEO's make millions... mean most of them hardly make a thing to get that 13 buck average.

Personally. Since we all know McD's is mostly about unskilled labor, and renting out real estate.... how do you think such a CEO should be getting paid millions? Sounds like a job most people with a college education can do. Nothing exceptionally astonishing.

Last time I went to McDonald's here I waited a half an hour for filet of fish with a half a piece of fake cheese thrown off to the side of the fish and a Big Mac with a nasty ass hair needless to say that's the last time I go there

When I used to get a hair in my food I thought there was a chance it might be me. I recently shaved my head bald and now I know for sure it's the kitchen haha
