You're right there, both major parties get very low favorable's and high unfavorable's. Today, it's the republican party that has slightly the lower favorable and high unfavorable's. But these numbers are dynamic and change constantly. Tomorrow it could be reversed.

But the bottom line is neither major party is liked much. It seems more and more Americans are getting tired of both parties putting their party above the country. More and more Americans are becoming independents as both major parties shrink. In 2006, independents made up 30% of the electorate, today, independents have risen to 41%. The sad part of all of this, all the power still lies with the two major parties.

 

Your claim was the GOP would take them both back. Now you are walking that back.

I believe that we will. However I am not a betting person. I realize we have to defend many more senate seats in 2022 than the Dems do so taking back the senate is a longer shot unless it’s a 1994 or 2014 election rather than a 2010 type. I’m not staying away from here if we do like we did in 2010.
