The painting I did was of a dog and I felt it wasn't gift worthy but........I gave it anyway.

I always hate it when I hit the "like" button, when reading someone's post, then see that I have an alert; only to find that that same person had "liked" one of my posts. It makes me think that they would believe that I was just paying them back for their "like".

She talks also, if I am late with her meal she tells me about it. She will dance for a treat, when she was younger she would do it on two feet now she uses all four and spins in a circle when I ask her to dance for me. She is a sweetheart of a dog.

" Likes " are but a mere contrivance.Imagine a Great Writer or Poet
being inspired to write based on how well liked they would appear.
Most Romance Novel writers have that mindset.Which proves me point.
What about a very reserved and extreme shy person like the cloistered
Emily Dickinson.Or The Great recluse and naturalist Henry David Thoreau,
one of my favorites. As both a writer and person of psychological insight.
Teaching a human to post or twitter stuff for likes is akin to teaching a
puppy how to go outside for potty.
Not much in the way of dynamic.Keeping in mind ...
    " There's a sucker born every minute ".

Clearly it was. Animal are very hard, when I have a spare few minutes I like to do little practice pieces and often try painting just the eyes as these carry most of the expression.
I'm away in the Derbyshire dales at the moment, one of the exercises my tutor suggested was that I try drawing and painting a tree accurately, that is to say as it actually is, branch by branch, leaf by leaf. The idea is to move you away from your imagined stylised trees to a better idea of how they really look and grow.
So I'm taking a few pics for when I get home.

Well.. that's a fine idea.. BUT that is a very unnatural looking tree.. just don't think it would transfer well to canvas. hereabouts, I really prefer canvas to capture much better the reality and feel of the huge broad vistas.

I punch in 'like' ALOT..... IT'S VERY EASY AND SAVES Me time rather than typing in a coherent post. Plus it supposedly give a little endomorphin hit to the recipient.

I am having a very bad time right now.It concerns the neighbor dog
I have been feeding the last couple years. She's an old rat terrier and
has gone blind and also lacks her hearing. She stumbles around with
probably hip displacia as well.Has good days where she manages but
walks crooked and slow. But her appetite is usually quite aggressive.
Not every day.But almost every day.She has bad days about once a week.
Her owner never ever showed any affection for her over the years.
    But did manage to get himself an additional dog { American Bulldog }
about 5 years ago.So at least Little Princess was not alone.
But Princess was never allowed inside their house.
I haven't seen little Princess since late Friday. When she had a meal
and seemed somewhat normal.I have gone a couple times in the last
year where on the weekends Little Princess never came out.She stays somewhere
in their Garage which they keep open { about 3-4 feet }.
This past Saturday that Garage was closed all the way. That almost never
occurs.I can't help but think it was done on purpose.Saturday was the hottest
day this year.If a dog was in a hot garage and there was no breeze or
water ... then what do you think could happen.Nothing good.
That is where I am at now.Wondering ... Hoping for the best.
    I can't stand it.It's making me sick.

I have taken several photo's, that one was really to show what the Derbyshire Dales look like. Maybe these might be better.
The idea is not to produce a painting, but to practice drawing elements, such as trees.
