Christendom's mega-churches don't have bingo table. You have an incorrect and totally misguided conception of Evangelical Christianity and God ~ but you NEED that in order to sustain your fantasy world. You are the one that is living in a fantasy world. A fantasy world that will relatively soon turn into a nightmare for you if you stay on the road you are now traveling. There are only 480 months in 40 years. Where do you think you'll be at the end of 480 months? And you know how time flies , , , The months just fly by , , , you know it. Best. JAG
According to the biblical fairy tale, people are supposed to judge people. After all, people will judge angels. You've been around people all of your life. You know all about people. Have you ever seen a legitimate angel? So what standard will you judge angels by?
Thank you for reply. Can you describe what you mean by..."morally ought to be safe"? What does "morally" have to do with being safe?
None taken. Therefore you should have no objection to, say, jumping off a 2 story building for $500,000 in time and landing in the space below where the illusion of concrete is. Also if time is an illusion, then you can jump and you will not really have jumped. So jump and get the $500,000? Would you object to doing that? The damage your body received would be merely an illusion. So why would you object to experiencing an illusion to get $500,000? (an eccentric billionaire who always tells the truth offered to pay you $500,000 to jump off a 2 story building.) Or will you claim that your body is real but its merely time and space that are illusions? If you do claim this ~ how do you know that your body is not also an illusion? You say you know that time and space are illusions. Maybe John Doe knows that your body is merely an illusion? And you have not yet learned that truth. How do you know your body is not also an illusion? And if the $500,000 is also an illusion, you will still enjoy spending it, just as you enjoyed the illusion of your breakfast this morning. May the Force be with you. Scot me up Beamy. JAG PS Where are you Neo? Morpheus? `` ``
You said: "Lol...when God himself writes a book on theology, it might be worth reading. Anything else is nothing more than human opinions."__Gabmux Will you concede that you were incorrect in saying that anything not written by God "is nothing more than human opinions"? Will you agree that the US Constitution and the Bill Of Rights, written by humans, carry more weight than being mere human opinions? Best. JAG ``
Silly Christians.....do you not read the Bible you profess to believe? 5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ 7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written:.....‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test."
How can I concede? You've given me no logical reason to. All you've done is express yet another "opinion".... in this case....your own opinion.
If God exists and is omnipotent of course He could cause Mary to conceive and give birth, but it sounds a little illogical. Why God demands from humans "Thou shalt not commit adultery" and not only prevents St. Josef from consumating his marriage, but forced St. Marry to commit adultery.
Just because Mary was caused to conceive doesn't mean she had sexual relations. Jesus healed without performing surgery, without causing pain or using painkillers. Joseph and Mary had seven children in total, which is a clear indication of consummation.
"Silly Christians"__Gabmux That about does it for me. I have zero time or interest in reading your insults. Its bad enough that you do not think in logical processes and that your understanding of the Bible is near to zero, but you add to those weaknesses insults. Find somebody else to insult and to attempt to overpower with your illogical processes and your "deep" . . . LOL . . knowledge of the Bible. JAG
The Jesus character used mud and spit to heal. That is not sanitary at all. Would you like it if someone used a spit mud ball on your belly wound or eyeball?
ni·hil·ism noun: nihilism the rejection of all religious and moral principles, in the belief that life is meaningless. Philosophy; extreme skepticism maintaining that nothing in the world has a real existence. Bit over the top nihilistic dontcha think?
Without a winkie I guess you're serious. He healed them without touching them. Why would a smart person mock what they don't understand or have no first hand knowledge. And especially when the subject is the meaning of life and our eternal welfare. I mean this isn't about which is the first and best soft drink or who makes the best portable power drill.
I don't remember the exact context or verse, but I remember Jesus saying that it would be better for some not to have been healed at all, than to be healed and fall into sin.
clearly its you that does not understand what you are talking about. unless you were a 'personal' witness to the event you cant have 'first hand knowledge.' How do you know whats going to work best for our 'eternal' welfare? Do you consider yourself G/god?
That's why I don't mock it...duh! Neither should any halfway intelligent person. And the fact that it's about divinity makes it immeasurably superior to the sum total of the the collective excellence of mankind which itself falls sorely short in each and every particular. It's stunningly foolish to mock the concept of God, much less the testimony and words of a man God whose short life changed the entire world for the next two thousand years and counting.
I couldn't find a verse that said it quite the way I said, but John 5:14 is kind of similar. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee.
Scriptures like this make no sense to me. I assume something is missing because physical afflictions are for all intent and purpose not associated with sin. Or he could have meant that the results of sin are worse than our physical afflictions. I don't know.
