Not possible. There is nothing in the Constitution, nothing in the UCMJ, and nothing in Civil Law that contains a "get out of jail free card" for a high ranking military official circumventing the civilian oversight of the military if they think POTUS is nuts. NOTHING. Should this ever be investigated, should it ever go to a Courts Martial, the jury won't be given instructions that they can find the defendant not guilty if they find that his concerns were justified.

Good intentions, however legitimate they may feel, is not a justification for Treason. Even if you sympathize with the person who (allegedly) committed it.

 

When a subordinate to the President - which Milley was and is - takes a huge step out on a limb exceeding his authority the way he did he will be judged either a hero or a goat by whether this actions turn out to have been justified. So far the evidence is that his actions were NOT justified. Punishment should be sevewre.

You seem to think that Milley is flat out not guilty, or if he is, "the ends justify the means" so to speak, meaning it's OK to commit Treason if your reasons for doing so are good enough, even though there is absolutely no foundation for that to be found in law anywhere.

But I think the reason he'll never be arrested, charged, or even so much as investigated is because Biden, Harris, Pelosi, and Schumer are running the show, and at best they're ambivalent and just don't care, or at worst they're on board with your illegal "the ends justify the means" idea. Or, they are just putting Party above Country, as usual, and refusing to do anything simply because Trump had an (R) by his name.

In any event, I have very serious doubts these allegations will ever so much as be investigated mostly because the Left, especially the hardcore Left, fundamentally hates the USA, and everything it stands for (stood for?) and if it takes Treason to impose their will, well, they simply couldn't care less.

He rendered the President's ability to order a nuclear strike moot, and told our enemy about it. If (I feel like I'm saying that a lot) the allegations are true, we should count ourselves as lucky then didn't attempt a first strike of their own, because they knew that for some period of time, the USA's ability to launch a retaliatory strike was nil. Meaning, frankly, we're all lucky to still be alive. I'm quite sure that some members of whatever the Chicom's highest political/military authority is called lobbied for exactly such a thing.

The only thing I'm concerned about with regard to any potential testimony is that it be the truth. If certain members of the Military or the Congress thought such a thing, oh, well. That still does not justify Treason. As I've written so repeatedly it's a wonder my fingers aren't bleeding, we have in place a way to deal with that situation legally, known as the 25th Amendment. If all those people were all that concerned, rather than justifying and/or assisting Milley with his (alleged) Treason, they should have been melting the phone lines talking to Cheney and insisting he initiate action under that.

But that they did not do. Which perhaps indicates that all of this is bullshit from the word go, as I've repeatedly stated my hopes for.
