if neither the hard infrastructure or reconciliation bills pass? Covid has been a thorn in Biden's side, inflation is out of control, the border is out of control, the Afghanistan withdrawal was a disaster, and many other issues just have not gone well at all. And now Biden seems unable to deliver on any infrastructure as Progressives are willing to tank the bipartisan hard infrastructure bill if they can't get their socialist wish list passed along with it. Biden himself said that his presidency is on the line. Is Biden right or is Biden wrong?
would any of that be different with a repub majority? the virginia election is what, next week? if the failed ceo of the carlyle group becomes governor, i'll get back to you. actually, virginia is so close that i can answer now : this nation is about to get the government it deserves.
It boils down to numbers to go along with that old adage that politics is the art of the possible. 222-213 majority is a far cry from the 256-178 majority the Democrats had in the house when the ACA was passed. Simply put, numbers say what was possible with a huge majority may not be possible with a slim majority. I don't think passing the infrastructure bill or the wishful 3.5 trillion package will make much of a difference. although the House Democrats ought to be smart enough to look at the numbers and deduce what is possible and what isn't. I think the beginning of empty shelves in stores and the price rises, inflation if you will is having more of an impact than either of those two bills sitting in the house. When the price of a gallon of gas rises from 2.00 to 3.30, people notice. When a loaf of bread goes from 2.00 to 3.00, people notice. When cleaning supplies are hard to get, when meat rises 25% or more, people notice. The house fighting over the infrastructure Bill isn't that noticeable. As Bill Clinton once said, it's the economy, stupid. Today it's empty shelves and price rising.
Biden's not gonna run for a second term. I don't even know if his health will hold out for the first term. The only question now is how much long term damage can he do before he drifts off into the night?
Only time will tell but I think Biden will come out looking pretty good. He's got a lot of repair work to take care of.
We have the government we deserve. Got it in Nov. 2020. It’s failing miserably and most likely will not last in its current make up, but we got what we voted for.
I don't know but I do know that the best thing that can happen is that all of this spending disappears. I think the democrat marxists are doing us a good service in this case.
"Is Biden's Goose Cooked" He's just getting warmed up. In spite of McConnell, President Biden is building a coalition that will accomplish a lot.
Yep, held out of the transition loop, briefings, etc. for as long as Trump could hold him out and took over a total **** storm with zero transition plans. Politics, power and corruption at the detriment of America and the American people.
Spot on! Presidents are typically both blamed and credited for issues that are attributable to overriding dynamic factors but have significant personal consequences - matters over which they have minimal control. In effect, presidents are blessed with good juju or cursed with bad juju, and praised or reviled accordingly.
Presidents bring this on themselves by taking credit when the economy is good. Thus they'll get the blame when the economy turns bad.
I'm not sure that the public perception would alter much if some candid POTUS were ever to confide confidences such as, "Matters such as inflation and deflation are above my pay grade."
His brain is cooked. BLAME THE VICTIM: Jen Psaki Faults Americans’ Spending Habits for Economic Woes: ‘Root Cause’ of Supply Chain Problems.
Well... surprise, surprise... it took 10 post's before a Biden OP turned into a Trump topic... and the same names keep that tradition up...
