Don't disagree there either. Her youth is definitely a major part of why we know who she is.

But that's okay. She's not meant to be the scientist or the politician who figures out the answers. That's not her role, and to my knowledge she's never claimed otherwise. She's a communicator.

A communicator? If she has nothing to add to the debate how is she a communicator? All she does is complain about politicians not doing enough. She has no understanding of the economic effect of her demands or what livelihoods they may destroy. She has never addressed that. Because she has no intellectual ability to do so. If she is a communicator she’s a very bad one

If she was a bad communicator you would never have heard of her.

She's entitled to her opinion. The media loves her because of her message.

She had a schtick because she was young. She's 18 now. So the schtick is gone.

Now it just comes off as annoying and ridiculous.
Wake me up when she goes to China and barks over there.

She doesn’t communicate better than anyone else. The only reason I have heard of her is because of her age when she started. She was made famous from her age… period. She was at a protest holding a sign that read something along the lines of telling students to dodge school in protest for climate change.

great idea right? Let’s stop going to school
And claim they’re making an intelligent move at the same time? Lmao

anyway it wasn’t her ability to communicate. All she was doing was holding a sign when she was first spotted. They fell for her age, not her message.

    Her message is completely useless.

She's targetting the wrong villain - always has done. She never turns to her adoring white urban middle-class audience and says "YOU have caused all this, and continue to cause it with your outrageously profligate travel and lifestyles". She never says "corporate manufacturers are just providing a service that YOU demand, with your ceaseless lust for movement and shiny new things".

Of course they do, because in her BS message THEY are not the villains.

It appears Greta knows her audience rather well. Knows they'll lap up the idea that it has nothing to do with them and their lifestyles, and everything to do with big faceless business and govt.

Instead of encouraging her peers to get into the sciences which directly impact how we live and so offer the opportunity to make real change (agricultural science, food science, biology, computer science, etc), she urges them to have toddler tantrums and drop out.

How you know she's not serious - 101.

She strikes me as a mentally ill child, although I guess now she's a young adult. But I'm less curious about her and more curious about grown adults who take her seriously. Someone posted in this thread about child preachers, and as far as I can tell, Greta is on par with a child preacher; charismatic kids who are manipulated by the adults around them to push the adult's agenda.

I have to say if anything I feel sorry for her. She's just a dumb kid like every other kid they don't know anything about the world outside of what their parents tell them.

I don't think her fear of some climate catastrophe is genuine. Because anytime I see her outside of lecturing people and trying crocodile tears cheese pretty happy about what she's doing almost seems like she's enjoying herself.

I do like that she was mocking the cop 26 thing or whatever the hell that was in Scotland. Because that's a joke. But she was mocking it for the reasons that they're not doing anything about what she thinks is a disaster so I can't give her too much credit for that.

Essentially she's a human shield against criticism for people who want to promote an ideology.

No doubt some people even in this thread have talked about how dare you mock or attack or criticize a little girl that's not a little girl anymore.

Maybe they all harbour a secret longing for a golden haired and faultless aryan child ... who calls in the cows from their chocolate box meadow, and makes the cheese exactly as Oma and Opa like it.

I suspect that she is probably sincere.....
I believe that she has a valid point that my generation, (I am sixty two)... we really did mess up when it comes to the commandment.....

I suspect that at least some of my ancestors probably shot Buffalo from the windows of trains......
others of my ancestors probably participated in the extinction of the passenger pigeon....

so.... she does make some valid point but.......
I consider that it is highly unlikely that I will hear her within five years make even one valid point in contradiction to the Al Gore Theories on how best to address climate change...... because the Al Gore approach is what the people want who have a huge amount of control over BigMedia.

Why did the most abundant bird in the world go extinct in just 50 years?

I have my doubts that she will give President Trump credit if he takes the Abraham Accords up to the place where the Middle East is positively transformed in every major way ..... (but I will love it if she surprises me).

After the Abraham Peace Accord turn deserts green...

If "nine out of ten doctors" didn't "recommend" Marlboro fewer people would be dying of lung cancer.

She effectively serves as a strategic replacement for Al Gore on the idea that people won't attack a child's portrayal in the narrative. People simply had no issues with kicking Al around in front of all of his friendfs.

People tend to not go on the offensive against child activists, unlike adult activists. Helps that she has disabilities.

They put these kinds of people into these roles because it naturally makes the average shmuck feel guilty for opposing them openly.

What you say is true and I must point out that this is a typical tactic by Sweden so it is no surprise to me that this is a Swedish ploy.

    Yes, I rememer that scene.
When she addressed an assembly of "bad old white men" with those words - and a face full of hate.

I am an old white man myself.
And I have the feeling, for people like Greta all old white men are very very bad and deserve to be shot.

Her plan is: Spreading hatred against all old white European men. In her view those old white European men are guilty on anything on earth.

Well yes, that's the consequence alright but I don't think it's "her plan". It's the social-political self-hatred of her parents for being white-privileged and procreating an abnormal child that saturates every fibre of her virgin & adolescent body .... but it's not "her plan".
