There could be those that believe that it was self defense. The question is: Since when did it become a crime to act in self defense? The jurors in this trial must have asked themselves this question over and over again. They made their decision and it was final. That's all folks.

I'm happy too, but one acquittal does not mean the American system has been corrected. Julian Assange still sits in prison in Britain. The victims of the January 6 affair still sit in prison in Washington. There are many such examples.

Hopefully the courage of this jury will have a positive influence on others in the pipeline.

Well I think she is simply repeating talking points and am trying to lead her to use reason and logic and evaluate the case on it's merits, not on what she's been told.

I think your post perfectly encapsulates the insanity of the left, and the inability to respond to issues without pulling up mindless talking points. The post you are responding to was me asking someone what white supremacy had to do with this issue, and your partial response is because there was a riot because a black guy brandished a knife to cops and got shot for it?

That doesn't make any logical sense.

Sigh, it's been so long since I've been able to engage in an actual honest debate with a leftist on this forum because of the hysterical refusal to think about whatever the issue is and the replacement of that with a diatribe that has nothing to do with the issue but seems more designed to attract clapter from fellow travelers. If that was your goal, I'm sure you accomplished it.

That is a ridiculous line in the sand, void of rational thought.

You make more good points, and I can only say that even though I'm an 'old guy' now, I think I can clearly go back mentally to being 17 years old and imagine what I would, or would not have done in the same situation.

To begin with, at 17, I had a full-time job and was self-supporting. I had saved up some money to go to college, and was the recipient of a small, partial scholarship. The point is that even if I had been amped-up enough to feel strongly about some stupidly tragic event that had gone on in a different city, in a different state, I WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO BUSY EARNING A LIVING to go and get myself ensconced in some new, dangerously unpredictable situation in which I had no 'stake' to begin with.... A pity (PITY) that Kyle Rittenhouse had so little else to do... nevertheless... he had the right to be where he was, and to do what he did.

And, of course, the challenge to this jury was to view the whole thing exclusively through the lens of the law, and the presiding judge's instructions regarding the law. Thus, case closed, except for all the residual hyperliberal carping and bitching about the outcome.

Boom! Americans are seeing them for what they are. At the very first they sounded like a great way to solve racism and I was on board. But thru the years……thru the riots….thru the murders….the arsons….the violating of rights of all peoples….the pushing of communist agendas……..the founders pushing communist agendas all along sucking in $100s of millions in “donations” to their personal back accounts.
What we will see is a awakening of middle America and the “tweeners, The election of 2022 will be the starting of the righting of the ship.

No, quite honestly, I did not know that his work was the reason he was in Kenosha. If that is true, then I apologize for my ignorance of that fact and retract the SNARKY imputation of my observation in Post #983.

The hyperliberal media has not troubled itself to state clearly that Rittenhouse had a reason to be in Kenosha other than what they've portrayed as some kind of teenage "adventure-hunting" episode. Thus, even though the media tried to 'gaslight' the whole thing from start to finish, you can bet that the JURY was well-informed of any and all real reasons that Rittenhouse was in Kenosha in the first place.

No, it doesn't bother me at all. Why should it. White Supremacists ought to agree with the verdict because it is the correct one. What bothers me is that the woke are so vindictive.

I think it’s important to remember Rittenhouse had a real connection to Kenosha, despite so many people thinking it was “not his community.” His father, along with other family, lived in Kenosha, he worked in Kenosha, and he was invited by at least one business to come help remove graffiti. It was very much part of his community.

The only way race enters this event is the fact it was a BLM protest. Race had no role in who shot or got shot. The only reason this rioting BS got off the ground and continues is that it serves a political purpose for the left wing pols who are currently controlling the power structure in the US.

I agree with the jury that Rittenhouse was not guilty of intentional murder and that he acted in self defense in those shootings. However I do think his presence there and his actions at the scene did escalate the situation into a deadly and dangerous one for all of the people involved. The prosecutors far overstepped their bounds in trying to put the kid in prison for the rest of his life and calling him a cold blooded murderer. I also felt that the 2nd degree murder charge against Chauvin was not warranted or just. That case in my opinion was manslaughter at best.

I did. I was right and you were wrong, and continue to argue like a 7 yr old.

Are you wearing that shirt yet?

Yes, please do that because it will confirm what I have been saying all along.

And by doing that you lose you childish wager and will have to wear the rainbow "I LOVE MEN" shirt. You have an option wo wear "MARXISM RULES" shirt.

Thank you. That is precisely what I have said in this thread for 4 times.

Please post a daily picture of yourself wearing that shirt in a public place.

There is so much wrong in this post, it’s literally jaw-dropping. Out of curiosity, are you an American? How old are you?

The police shooting which triggered the riots was about race, or BLM made sure it was about race. There were probably some white supremacists present as has been the case in most race riots in 2020, but it is incorrect to paint all folks who showed up with AR15 as such. There is no evidence any of them were white supremacists. There is a pic of Kyle hanging our with an alt-right extremest group flashing a sign that most consider a white power sign, but that's is pretty much all the evidence there is about his white power leanings.

When you quote someone else words, please provide a link, but since you pretend to have authored the words, I'll ask you who has said that burning down businesses for racial justice was both good and healthy.

I would say it's about impossible for me to take seriously accusations that the "OK sign" is a white power sign. It's hard to believe that's considered a serious thing.

He did not go there to work that night. Why do you think he picked up a rifle on the way there? Why he decided to go there that day does not nullify his self defense claim, but to say he was working in Kenosha that night is simply not true.

It doesn't matter how you take it, or what you consider it. It is a matter of fact that lot of people take is as white power sign AND of course it is also (and has always been) the OK sign. Context matters. If you are hanging out with 10 white supremacists and they all flash the sign, the hard to argue they are just saying OK, especially when it is done 'knuckels out' . It started off as a joke, but it was adopted as 'white power' sign, so some people who flash the OK sign are actually saying 'white power'. Your agreement on the matter is not required, but what I am saying is factually true. As for Kyle, he was hanging out with alt-right group, the Proud Boys which is not a white supremacy group per say although it is likely some, or many, of they are such.

Back to the point: I do not consider the AR15 folks in Kenosha as white supremacists. That is an incorrect characterization.

If Rittenhouse had a connection to a business, family, or civic org. in Kenosha that he felt concern for, day or night, during all the rioting, arson, and looting, then how could anyone say he had no business being there?
